Greg is busy Togg archiving. With all the work he puts in to the various Queen related projects he is working on, it must be very frustrating when it is all swept aside by Mr. Beach and Co. and they release the end product like the Singles Collection without even a booklet. The Who singles set had a very detailed one.
I wonder what his thoughts are on the "new" Ultimate Greatest Essential Hits Album.
Certain bands seem to have endless amounts of compilations like Foreigner,Aerosmith and even Meatloaf.
It would be great if he could organise a questions and answers session with the band and himself for us the fans in a live webchat or something similar like the convention. Probably never happen..
I'm looking forward to Queen Greatest Hits Singles box Ultra special release in 2011. It has the best singles from the singles boxes collected at one dics. The cd has just a cover and no booklet. But there is a very very rare pic on the cover where Freddie sits on the knees of a Gorilla A.K.A "Gorilla Shoot take one".
The Special edition cd comes with mega rare movieclip where John Deacon falls of a chair on the floor A.K.A John's scret drug addiction, caught on tape by the mysterious Turkey's Twins around 1986. Both cd's are just 50 dollars and they are of course re-re-re mastered for this new release.
Ok, I might regret this, wasting my 666th post on a thread like this. I'd thought I save it for something more diobolical but here goes :)
I find it kinda sad, all these great, great bands trying to milk the last out of their hits.
I mean, Queen is NOTHING compared to say; Michael Jackson, Status Quo, CCR and even Elvis. Some of them might be long gone but in their place is some greedy SOB's throwing a Greatest Hits at you every once in a while.
Michael Jackson, rest his soul, just recently released a No.1's album, yes? Well, I don't know about you guys, but here in Sweden, almost the EXACT same songs got on a album called "Swedish hits". You guys might have seen it as "No.1 U.K hits" or "The very best of Michael Jackson in the U.S" but I don't know if it's been released like that in other countries. Die hard fans, paying for an album cover as I see it.
LOLSOS and Freddie Mercury solo, same thing. But since I am a hardcore Queen fan, fine. Here's your 15£/20$.
Now we get a Ultimate greatest no.1 special edition digipac remastered 5.1 version of the greatest hits 1, 2 and 3 and I'm furious. Yes, Freddie has been gone for almost 20 years now, and there might be no more stuff left to complete a'la "Made in heaven". But WHY do QP think we need all this Deja vu? Give us a live concert from the 70's. Give us a demo complication or a B-sides collection.
No, I think GB and QP's "big thing" might just be another hi-def blu-ray of Wembley. Might as well throw in Brian and Roger "chat-track" where they: Ooohh...haha, Freddie at the sing-a-long of LOML. And talking about how sad it is that John has retired.
Rant over. Feel free to piss all over me. I hold my breath, just in case.
Cheers!

I am not going to 'piss all over you' but I have to disagree with the LOLSOS being the same tracks as Freddie Solo Collection. There are many remixes on LOLSOS (second disc I believe) NOT on the ten disc Solo Collection, and in fact IMHO the LOLSOS second disc is a pure waste of time. The mixes are rubbish.
I happen to have the three disc FM Solo Col too, but that is no longer available to buy, so the LOLSOS release makes sense (for the first disc anyway). I have the LOLSOS DVD anyway, not the CD for - those reasons.
Ok. You're right. But I'm no fan of remixes. The Living on my own remix from 93 is an exeption 'cause that shed some new light on Freddie and might brought the younger public to his music. I do own the FM 10cd, 2dvd AND the 2disc+bonus Freddie Mercury Solo, however I bought the latter one first, not knowing about the first. And for a price of 700SEK(roughly 70£), I found the big box a bargain. After the second buy, I donated the "small" collection to my pops, who got me into Queen in the first place.
But what we need to ask ourselfes is: Do we, the inhabitants of planet earth, really need a new Queen-Greatest Hits?
I'm sure I got more than 50% of the QZ behind me when I say, no.

I will be one of the 50% that will say no..... unless someone buys it for me then that will be ok. On the plus side of the "new" Greatest Hits, I do like the cover....
