In a BBC World Service interview from November 16th, 1997, Brian May mentioned that "Queen Rocks might change its sleeve once it has sold a million copies in each territory of the world".
So, around 1998 the Queen Rocks album did came out in the UK with the 'bird' sleeve (the first sleeve being the 'exploding crest' sleeve). Who knows in what month and/or on what day the album with the second sleeve was released?
Recently I found out that there are not only two different sleeves (for the vinyl, the cd and the cassette), but there are also two different prints on the UK cd. I thought that only a disc with a picture of the 'exploding crest' existed, but there is also a plain green disc known. In the attached picture you'll see the 'old' sleeve with the new disc. Is there also a combination that has the 'new' sleeve with the plain green disc?
Thank you. For my discography I am focussing on the UK pressings of this album right now. The booklet and disc for the Brazilian version are also different. The girls on the 'exploding crest' inlay wear clothes and the disc itself is white. I think the Southafrican sleeve is also censored.
Interesting to know that our Brazilian covers are "covered". Just for the record, Brazil has no official censorship for decades now. The government has no say in these things. This must have been a business decision of the record company.

Same goes for my Indonesian release, it's the censored version with just the title on the CD-label.
Actually never seen a CD with the cover of the 2nd released Vinyl version.
I have the first Mexican version of the CD and it has the regular cover and replicates it on the CD surface. The USA Hollywood Records version has the same cover but the print on the CD surface has only the title, like the image attached to the first post in this thread.
The back cover of the HR CD has the elliptic Hollywood Records label logo.
Thanks Wiley, very useful! Does your HR disc have red/yellow letters like the picture in my first post, or are they completely yellow (like in this picture)?
Thanks again Wiley. You mention that you have the first Mexican version of the cd. Does that mean that there is a second version too? Btw: I reckon that the Mexcian version is not 'censored'?
I'm sorry, I said first version because I was thinking I got it on the very first day it got out in Mexico but I believe that's the ONLY version of the CD in Mexico. Technically it's the first and also the last, haha :)
