Update from Dreamweaver
I did find a recording from the Gary Moore performance in Mannheim '86, sharing the bill with Marillion & Queen. This boot contains the FM recording from one of these gigs with the addition of 2 bonus tracks hardly ever played by Gary, and also a rare collaboration with Frankie Goes To Hollywood "Gary Moore - Revisited 1986" (Bootleg) 01 - Run For Cover 02 - Murder In The Skies 03 - Shapes Of Things 04 - Wild Frontier 05 - Victims Of The Future 06 - Empty Rooms 07 - Out In The Fields 08 - All Messed Up 09 - Rockin' Every Night 10 - Wishing Well 11 - Take A Little Time* 12 - Listen To Your Heartbeat* 13 - Warriors** (12" Remix with Frankie Goes To Hollywood) Track 01-10 = Recorded Live on 21.06.1986 at Maimarkgelände, Mannheim, Germany Source: FM Radio, SWF3 (Sound Quality 9/10) Track 11* + 12* = Recorded Live on 03.06.1986 in Guidford, England Source: Audience (Sound Quality 4/10) Track 13** = Extra bonus track on the "Revisited 1986" album. And here's the link: http://www.megaupload.com/es/?d=U63PEP0K SPECIAL THANKS TO WALTER @ GUITARS 101 Cheers everybody, I hope you'll enjoy this one ... Dreamweaver ;-) |

Thanks a lot !! This idea of combining the opening act along with the main act is really nice, it gives a fair view from the audience of what happened that day. Nice ! Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |

sexmachine wrote: don't forget: gary moore and level 42 were support-acts too on that day! So next question is, are there some recordings of these bands on that day ? That's incredible, that's just an excellent way to prove how Queen were huge at that time. You can't have such known bands as opening acts if you don't sell only 20.000 records worldwide !! This tour was really a sort of testimony of Queen's grandeur: the huge stage, the stage outfit, the quality of the opening acts, the aftershow parties.... Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |

It seems Mediafire once again had some problems with an archive file, the 1st track from CD1 of Marillion gig can't be unzipped, Dear Pittrek, sorry to be that annoying, but do you think you can upload it once again ? Or am I the only one to have such problem ? I listened to the first part of the Marillion gig, and found the band was really good, really enjoyable music (very 80's sound, but nice anyway, I especially love "Kayleigh"). And I must say the audience really well behaved and was really entertained, it's not always the case with an opening act, but this time it is really nice ! Of course Marillion is not the worst of openers... Thanks a lot for that excellent upload ! Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |

hey hello.., please can you help me out with this? i downloaded the marillion files, (all of them twice) but with the unrar it gives me only the name of the cd and an empty disc 1 i really would like to have this concert to because the misplaced childhood album from marillion is one of my favorites. please help me. thank you so much greetz leander |
| pittrek 07.08.2009 07:35 |
Strange. Do the rar files have the correct size ? All of them should have the same size (I think 100 431 872), just the last part should be smaller. In the case the files are smaller, you need to re-download them. In the case you won't succeed in the next days I'm gonna put it to rapidshare or megaupload |
| lfvdh 07.08.2009 22:49 |
hello pittrek.., i downloaded all the files again and stil have the same problem the first 5 parts are all 95.7 MB and the last one 34.6 MB (when not unrared) i use RarZilla Free Unrar and normally i have no problems with unrarring files. (if i say this correctly) i hope you can upload these files in megaupload or rapidshare. i would be really happy if you can do this for me thank you in advance i ow you big time... and not only for these files, but also for all the rest that you (and all the others) have done for the Queen fans. without you my Queen collection was not as nice as it is now. so a million times thanks for all this. you're the greatest thanks leander |

Thanks very much for this nice post, Pittrek ! very nice indeed, because I was at this show in Cologne in 1986. German (local) band CRAAFT opened the show and next were LEVEL 42, GARY MOORE and MARILLION. Headlining band was: QUEEN. The same bands also performed in Berlin and in Mannheim. Now somebody asked recordings of Gary Moore & Level 42 .... well, I didn't find them (yet) BUT .... I did find a recording from the Gary Moore performance in Mannheim '86, sharing the bill with Marillion & Queen. Thanks Dreamweaver ! Killer versions of Shapes Of Things and Wishing Well. Gary Moore is one hell of a player. Great band too. Does anyone know who was playing with him on this tour? A little Queen-related tidbit... Neil Murray played with him in 82/83, along with Ian Paice. |
| pittrek 11.08.2009 11:32 |
Thanks for the Gary Moore gig . According to Wikipedia his support musicians in 1986 were John Sloman - Lead and backup vocals, Neil Murray - Bass, Ian Paice - Drums, Don Airey - Keyboards - at least on the Rockin' Every Night (Live in Japan) album. |
| The Real Wizard 11.08.2009 14:54 |
That's a reissue of a live album from 1983. His band had changed by 1986. |
| Satriani 11.08.2009 16:22 |
I am a huge Gary Moore fan (he was my No.1 influence when first learning the guitar) and saw him a few times in the summer of 1986 (some of the very first gigs I went to) and was very disappointed to learn that he wasn't one of the support acts at Knebworth (my only Queen gig). Anyway, I'm reasonably sure that the line-up was: Gary Moore - Guitar/Vocal, Bob Daisley - Bass, Neil Carter - Keyboards/Guitar/Vocal, Gary Ferguson - Drums (Not certain about this) |
| Dreamweaver 12.08.2009 03:43 |
You're welcome! And indeed ... Gary Moore was (and still is) GREAT !! And yes, Mr. Satriani, ... you are right: At both 1986 shows (21.06.1986 Mannheim + 03.06.1986 Guidford) the line up of the band was: Gary Moore (guitar/vocals) Neil Carter (keyboards/guitars/vocals) Bob Daisley (bass) Gary Ferguson (drums) Fun It !! + Cheers ;-) Dreamweaver PS: Does anybody have a recording of the Craaft and / or Level 42 shows in Cologne or Berlin or Mannheim 1986? |

You're my hero! It's almost 25 years ago that this event took place. I was 10 years old (really) and it was my first ever rock concert I attened with my father and my uncle. My mum who initally should go to the concert was ill so my dad decided that I should go instead of her. What a debut for a concert career, isn't it? Whatever this reminds me that I turned old. ;-) A nice memory for someone who didn't know until today that this show has been taped. Cheers from Switzerland..... |
