After being at what might be the last concert in Paris for NIN, and learning that he had been somehow influenced by Queen, I managed to hear those two tracks:
My wife and I were lucky enough to be at their San Diego, CA, show where Reznor joined support act Street Sweeper Social Club (who are fast becoming one of my favorite bands, btw) onstage for a rocking cover of MC5's "Kick Out the Jams". Without question, it was the highlight of an otherwise disappointing evening, with technical troubles shortening NIN's set and Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction doing his best Freddie Mercury impression all night long (which, it turned out, wasn't very good).
Moral of the story, Reznor has a surprisingly good voice for straightforward rock, even though he's gained fame for his industrial metal.
Went to see NIN in Amsterdam last week. Very energetic concert.
I do like the Get Down Make Love cover.
I was hoping Trent would do it at the Amsterdam gig...(he didn't)
Like 'em both, the best covers/remixes so far imho...love the Freudian dialog intro to GDML...and the snippet of TYMD guitars and SHA drums thrown into SCC...beautiful kaos
