this is just a short description of what happened at that gig because i was there:
although i liked marillion a lot in these days and i really looked foreward seeing them supporting queen in cologne,
this gig was boring as hell. they played in daytime and fish was sitting on his monitorbox for most of the time.
no lightshow at all and the new album "misplaced childhood", which they played in its entirety left no space for improvisations at all. i think the whole stadium was bored. they were all waiting for queen.
then, in the middle of market square heroes, one of the better songs, just in the moment when they started to jam into "lets twist again" a loud familiarsounding second guitar started to roar and brian came on stage.
the crowd went wild and the whole stadium seemed to explode. it was brians 39th birthday ( which i didn't knew then) and many people had happy birthday banners to hold up. thats how i remeber it.
thanks for uploading.
(remeber an irish pub in roma?)
