What version are you using? I have 3.0.10 and am having no trouble whatsoever. |
pittrek 06.06.2009 07:51 |
I have 3.0.10 as well. Now when I think about it the problems started after I updated to newest version of IETab but I don't see a way how could it influence this. It's sad that I have to switch to IE when I want to post something, I hate ads :( |
pittrek 08.06.2009 01:48 |
Come on people, am I REALLY the only one having this problem ? |
pittrek 09.06.2009 08:34 |
Still... + Email me when someone replies to this thread does NOT work, I do NOT want to receive e-mails when somebody replies to some thread. I can't uncheck the checkbox either :( When I click the checkbox the page reloads and what a surprise - it's still checked and I still keep getting e-mails :( |

pittrek wrote: Come on people, am I REALLY the only one having this problem ? Hi, dear Pittrek! Quite in a hurry and only because you rock my world. ;-)) Otherwise I'd have remained quiet, I guess. Hehe. Well, I'm using I.E and I can't write anything in the textbox when I try to create a thread, the only thing I'm able to do is, as you pointed out when you were using Firefox, typing on the titlebox. It only happens, though, when I try to create a thread and am using I.E. As for the mails - I don't want to get any either when someone replies to a thread, but I have been able to check and uncheck the box and, up until now, I haven't received any unwanted e-mails. I hope it helps, my dear. Thanks for everything, Richard, and all the effort you put on the website. It's really beautiful. Best regards, Yara |
pittrek 09.06.2009 08:51 |
Thanks Yara, good to know that I'm not the only one :) Even when my problem is slightly different :) |

I have the problem when I post a new thread. I can type into the subject line but not into the text window. My solution: I post the empty topic, then I choose "edit" and write my text into the text window. I uncheck the "Subscribe to this thread" box right under the text window before I post. I still cannot send private messages , someone must pm me first, then I can answer. |
Mr Mercury 09.06.2009 10:26 |
Regarding the PM thing I get the same problem as you YV. And I had the same problem with the text area as well when I was trying to post an announce for the Q+PR show at the SECC last year for Marknow. Ended up posting it in the same thread that Grahame started. Strange problem that. |

I am using FireFox 3.x and am able to unsubscribe from a forum post, as well as start a brand new post. Can you describe the behavior of what happens when you try to, but can't post. Do you see the text box? Is it grayed out? Only the "top line" of the box is active. So, if you click too far below, it doesn't activate it. I will see if there is something else i can do on my end in the meantime. Richard |
Richard Orchard 09.06.2009 21:36 |
hi, I think i have resolved your "not being able to write in the text area" problem. Please let me know how you go. Richard |
Richard Orchard 09.06.2009 22:39 |
i have also had another look at personal messages. these should now be working well for everyone... |
pittrek 10.06.2009 01:46 |
Hi Richard, no, it's still not working (I'm writing this from IE again). As I wrote, the problem is that in FF I can't "click in" into this text area in which I'm writing this post right now. I can see it normally, it's not disabled or anything like that, I simply can't put the cursor to it Also I tried to click on the checkbox with the description "Email me when someone replies to this thread ", the only action is that the page reloads and the checkbox is still checked. This happens on IE and FF. I also tried to uncheck the checkbox with the description "subscribe to this thread" which is above the "Post Message" button on this page, but the result is the same. But it looks that I can paste using CTRL-V (at least in IE), thanks for that |
Richard Orchard 10.06.2009 07:50 |
would you be able to: - check and make sure you have the latest version of the browser available - Clear your browser cache - Tell me if anything is showing up in the error console (Tools > error console) I am using FireFox, and it is working. So, it is quite hard to fix, if i can't see the same thing. So, any information you can give me would be great. Thanks, Richard |
pittrek 10.06.2009 08:01 |
Yes, there are a lot of errors in the error console. Do you know if there is a way how to export all of them ? But e.g. there are problems with stylesheets (its mime type is text/html instead of text/css), and there are many many problems with Telerik.Web.UI I try to export all the errors somehow. |

Hi, I downloaded and installed the Slovac version of Mozilla. But, i still have no problems with being able to post a message. I did make a couple of minor changes before installed that browser, and tried to post. Would you be able to try again? Just make sure you delete your browser cache. Please let me know how you get on. I will continue to try and sort this out. Richard |
Richard Orchard 10.06.2009 20:50 |
i am using the slovak version of firefox as i write this. version 3.0.10 |
pittrek 12.06.2009 11:25 |
That's REALLY strange. Do you think that some addons could influence the behaviour ? Because I tried also disabling all addons and it didn't help. Also I tried it on 2 computers and it works on none of them |
pittrek 18.06.2009 14:20 |
Is there ANYTHING I might do to help you finding the problem ? |
Richard Orchard 19.06.2009 14:33 |
I am not sure... i will set it to default to a plain text box - and allow people to "choose" if they want to use the rich editor. that way at least, you can use the browser of your choice. |
pittrek 20.06.2009 14:19 |
I'm playing with Firebug right now and I found out something interesting (at least for me :) ) It's interesting that you use inside one a textarea with display:none, and an <iframe> which includes a javascript generated empty document. What exactly should be the "clickable/writable" element if I can ask ? Because when I remove the style of the I can write into the <textarea> :) |

hi, I have added a "basic" editor option. At the moment, it won't remember which one you chose before.... But, i will sort that out later on tonight. Naturally, i managed to totally muck things up, and the site would've experienced some "down-time". |
Richard Orchard 23.06.2009 12:31 |

And definetly this is not a slovac prblem...I live in South America  P.S.: now I was editing this post cause has a typo...and now I can use the advanced editor  this really need to be fixed...I hate IE !!! |
