I love em to bits but they did record some stinkers, let's face it. So in no particular order...... The Invisible Man Really appalling, turgid and offensive re-working of Ray Parker Juniors ''Ghostbusters''complete with annoying electro bass. Man on the Prowl A Complete bollocks attempt to retread 'Crazy little thing' territory with Shakin Stevens style guitar solo. Should have given the whole song to him. Misfire The Clue is in the title. Thankfully JD's songwriting got better. My Baby Does Me Yes I should think she probably does but not while listening to this surely. (Original Vinyl of the Miracle criminally overlooked ¨Hang on in There¨ in favour of this - what were they thinking of) Delilah Sorry Fred but a song about your cat has no place on a Queen Album. Even a GOOD song about your cat has no place on a Queen album and this is not a good song infact the song would probably pee all over your chippendale suite too. Was it all Worth it "We bought a drumkit, thought we were perfect"....on the strength of these lyrics 'they, sadly, weren't perfect at all - nor was it "Worth it". The Hitman It wasn't "A Hit" man. Coming Soon This song is not offensive - it just bores me beyond continence and that, for Queen, is unforgivable. Don't lose your Head Quite difficult not to lose your head when there is noise but no song. Friends will be Friends Shallow, Mawkish, sentimental lighter - waving at it's very worst from Queen's worst album.Actually in my experience Friends WON¨T be Friends unless your friend happens to be a Labrador. |

Yeah, I cringe when some of the songs you mentioned are played. I do like Misire though. Delilah, well I like the guitar work. Have to ask when these songs are included on an album, did Queen really think these are good songs or was it all they had? Should include Party and Kashoggis ship. Trite lyrics sung in a bad American drawl . Arghh |

I don't agree with many of your choices. The Invisible Man: when I first heard TIM, I did feel that it was basically a reworking of 'Ghostbuster's but now, once I acknowledge the debt it owes, I actually like it. I like Freddie's vocals and I love the naming of the 4 members. Man on the Prowl: one of my least favourite songs on The Works, along with IAHL, but I like this song. Not a great song by any means, and it probably shouldn't have copied such an amazing song, but it is no way IMO one of Queen's worst songs. Misfire:I love this song. I know, I'm probably the only one, but I really adore it. John had this ability to bring out some of Freddie's best and smoothest vocals, and this was no exception. A song that is far too short, whenever I listen to SHA, I always make it a point to listen to this song. I think it's fantastic; and yes, while it's not John's best song as writer (that honour goes IMO to In Only Seven Days) I do think it's pretty well written. Was it all Worth it: not the best written song, but Freddie's vocals were superb, and sometimes, that's enough for me. The Miracle was IMO Queen's worst album, but Freddie's vocals were magnificent as usual, and this is IMO one of the album's best songs. I do think that it is one of the album's best written songs as well. The Hitman: not a great song, but not a terrible one either. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Innuendo, so with a few exceptions, none of the songs are among my favourites. However I don't think this is among Queen's worst songs. Friends will be Friends: alright I'll probably be shot for this, but I love FWBF. I really do. Yes, it's sentimental, but I think that Freddie's vocals are wonderful and I do think it's well written. Plus, Brian is superb. |

Fred sang in an American accent quite alot - I've got no problem with that and the american accent often lends it's self to melody better than the english because of it's drawn-out vowels. In retrospect MISFIRE isn't so bad - I suppose it was a little trite when you consider some of the songs Deacky wrote later. |

I quite like Misfire. It's a cute little ditty, not really worthy of hate in my opinion. I do think there's a difference between boring and just plain BAD. Delilah, Man on the Prowl, Life is Real, Don't Lose Your Head, Fun It, Loser in the End are all fairly BAD. There are a lot of boring or generally messy songs, Friends Will be Friends, Coming Soon, Just Keep Passing the Open Windows, The Hitman, Was it All Worth It, My Baby Does Me, Cool Cat, ... I also find All God's People quite boring, and Calling All Girls. Then again, I can still sing along to each of these, so what does that tell you? |

However Dancer is a guilty pleasure for me; not a great song but one that I love listening to and Put Out The Fire is IMO a terrific song. You Take My Breath Away is one that I enjoy but don't love. Freddie was superb on it however. Staying Power is my favourite song on Hot Space and one of Queen's best, so I can't agree with that at all.For years and years I loathed Sweet Lady. Skipped it every time. Then one day I listened, and liked it, and haven't looked back. "Sweet like some I'm kind of cheese" is still on the awful lyric list though ... It does indeed have awful lyrics, however the guitar and drums are great; particularly Brian's solo at the end. However it's still by far my least favourite song on ANATO (other than God Save The Queen which doesn't count.) |

I really don't think that Freddie sang with an American accent. Not compared with Mick Jagger, Elton John, George Michael and the like. Maybe on a few songs but when he was just singing naturally I can't hear an American accent at all. |

I'm surprised to see Friends Will Be Friends in this thread! I always felt a bit...wrong...for not liking the song! I always found it boring, cheezy and unoriginal. I've also found that songs I skipped over and didn't like as a youth are now some of my favorites. |

Can't think of many more off the top of my head... Oh, "Invisible Man" scares me for some reason - particularly whenever it starts and I'm not expecting it. And I'm not a major fan of the beginning of "One Vision". Scared the crap out of me the first time I heard it. Like the rest of the song, just not the beginning of it. |

The whole point of this forum is the subjective sharing of opinion isn't it ? (tell that to the guy who threatened to "tell Brian May"ha ha!) I can't say I've loved everything they've ever done but I liked them enough to spend a fortune on the above and to be here offering my experience and opinions, positive AND negative, on a whole range of issues concerning the band. I think even the songs that don't rock my world have some redeemable qualities. Still though, if I had to choose..... 1. More of That Jazz 2. In Only Seven Days - (Although sweet, it's choppy to me) 3. Tear it Up 4. Drowse 5. Gimme the Prize (Kurgan's Theme) 6. Machines (or 'Back to Humans') 7. Coming Soon A couple of my favorites are Back Chat and Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy |

Reply to big Fish: I actaully found your reply reslly patronizing, You think just because your an older Queen fan you have the right to critiizize Queens songs, well you don't, They were experimental with their music. Why don't you make a list of "Oh Freddie!!! 10 songs that ROCK my world"??? p.s I actaully own a lot of Queen merchindise myself (INCULDEING COFFEE MUGS!!!!!!!!!) yes, your not the only one with coffee mugs! lol xD |
