My, my aren't we a happy bunny? Brian's site is more of a personal blog and very independent - not really a mainstream marketing tool. As for the fan club most people gave up on this many years ago. QOL is really a marketing site aimed for info about official material releases and not really a key information resource. That's where QueenZone steps in [/img]
agreed.... would be super to have a rogertaylor.com soapbox. Would be excellent to hear Artys' rants and raves!! I am suprised that no mention was made by Jen on brianmay.com about the american idol final? Will have to check out youtube.....
Agree that Roger having a similar site to Brian would make for some extremely interesting reading / interaction.
I like the way Brian keeps well away from other social sites like twitter and facebook - he doesn't need them his site and 'blog' if you can call it that pre dates any of the more established social sites.
Hope Roger finds the time / motivation to go the same way as Brian has and hope that it isn't just for marketing purposes but more to find a sensible way to interact with fans and post comments.
To be brutally honest, the 80's musician age-group are just a bit embarassing when it comes to airing their views on-line. The fact is that none of them really has anything of interest or importance to say - add this to the cheesy stage gear they still seem to think that t hey look great in and you have something pretty laughable, regardless of their instrumental prowess.
Look at someone like Pete Townshend whose blog site was absolutely indespensible reading in terms of his outlook on the industry, music, his peers and friends - it was relevant and of interest and steered away from "bunny-hugging" as much as possible.
There are very few musicians who have enough intelligence to be able to keep their audience interested. Sure, Brian's very good at two things; playing his hand-made guitar and astro-physics. On any other subject, he has proven himself to be something of a clown. I'd be surprised if Roger was that much different but he'd certainly be more politically aware and controversial.
