I have decided to continue the mega-torrent project, so..... A new Mega-Torrent right now: My collection of concerts from 1981 (7,29 GB). Complete Queenconcert list 1981 (thanks to Martin and his website link where I found the following information): 1981-02-12 Tokyo 1981-02-13 Tokyo 1981-02-16 Tokyo 1981-02-17 Tokyo 1981-02-18 Tokyo 1981-02-28 Buenos Aires 1981-03-01 Buenos Aires 1981-03-04 Mar del Plata 1981-03-06 Rosario 1981-03-08 Buenos Aires 1981-03-20 Sao Paulo 1981-03-21 Sao Paulo 1981-09-25 Caracas 1981-09-26 Caracas 1981-09-27 Caracas 1981-10-09 Monterrey 1981-10-17 Puebla 1981-10-18 Puebla 1981-11-24 Montreal 1981-11-25 Montreal In the torrent you can find the next FLAC concerts: 01) 1981-02-12; Tokyo 02) 1981-02-13; Tokyo 03) 1981-02-16; Tokyo 04) 1981-02-17; Tokyo (Pitrek Best Of The Best) 05) 1981-02-18; Tokyo 06) 1981-02-28; Buenos Aires (Pitrek Best Of The Best) 07) 1981-03-01; Buenos Aires 08) 1981-03-04; Mar del Plata 09) 1981-03-08; Buenos Aires 10) 1981-03-20; Sao Paolo (Pitrek Best Of The Best) 11) 1981-09-27; Caracas 12) 1981-10-17; Puebla 13) 1981-10-18; Puebla There are no recordings known, according to link, from the following concerts: 1981-03-06 Rosario 1981-09-25 Caracas 1981-09-26 Caracas The following concerts can't be shared: 1981-11-24/25 Montreal (Official Release) 1981-03-21 Sao Paulo (I don't have this one, somebody else maybe ????) MP3-"bonus" for this year will be: the Monterrey concert from 9 october 1981 (two different incomplete sources) Both recordings are downgraded to crappy MP3 quality with a low bitrate. Normally I say not worth for sharing, but it is an missing concert from 1981, so I share it (take it or leave it!). Some extra information: 01) 1981-02-12; Tokyo Sorry, no lineage known. Thanks to the original taper (unknown) and uploader (unknown) 02) 1981-02-13; Tokyo Queen Tokyo, Japan Nippon Budokan February 13, 1981 At last, I managed to track down the first generation recording of this show. It definitely sounds better than the silvers on the Gypsy Eye label. This is one of my all-time favourites. Excellent sound, great atmosphere, great show overall. Roger's tympani solo is missing (presumably for a tape flip), but the recording is otherwise complete. Lineage: AUD > Master > 1st Generation Tape > WAV > CDR (x) > WAV > GoldWave (pitch correction) > FLAC frontend (level 8) Distribute these files only if they are left completely unaltered. As always with my shares, be sure that this recording is not made available at Queenzone or elsewhere in mp3 or any other lossy format. Keep lossless files lossless. Enjoy! Many thanks to Sir GH 03) 1981-02-16; Tokyo Queen 16/2/1981 Budokan hall Tokyo, Japan Audience recording Lineage: 'Prime Jive' wardour; master > silvers Thanks to "On My Way Up" here from Queenzone for sharing this concert last year. 04) 1981-02-17; Tokyo (Pitrek Best Of The Best) Queen Tokyo, Japan Nippon Budokan February 17, 1981 This is the definitive version of the fourth night in Tokyo, apparently from a first gen tape, according to the fine folks at Wardour. AUD Master > 1st Gen Cassette (?) > "Prime Jive" (Wardour) silvers > CDR (x) > WAV > FLAC Frontend level 8 Thanks to the original taper (unknown) and uploader (unknown) 05) 1981-02-18; Tokyo 1981, 18 Feb. Tokyo, Budokan CDR > WAV > Remastering > FLAC (level 8) Sound: good Source: audience Comments: The last night at the Budokan of a set of five shows. Unfortunately the sound is below Japanese standards. The show itself has some surprises: an improvisation of 'The millionaire waltz', some Japanese tune before 'Love of my life' (anyone knows the title??!?!?!?) and 'Teo torriatte' as last encore AFTER 'We are the champions'! Furthermore, it contains part of the soundcheck. I removed some clicks and corrected the pitch of the soundcheck (which was too low). Enjoy! Cheers, Tim (Epic Dreams) Thanks to the original taper (unknown) and uploader (unknown) 06) 1981-02-28; Buenos Aires (Pitrek Best Of The Best) Date: 28.02.1981 Venue: Velez Sarsfield City: Buenos Aires Country: Argentina Running Time: 87 min. Soundquality: Excellent- Taper: Unknown Lineage: Unknown (AUD > ... > CDR(x) > WAV > FLAC Level 8) Review: Great soundboard recording from the first night in Buneos Aires 1981. It was broadcasted live on the radio in Argentina. The soundquality is almost Excellent. The only thing is that there is some tape hiss and it has too much bass in my opinion, but nothing bad actually. The song Dragon Attack has a fade out, so Now I'm Here(Reprise) is missing. Same for God Save The Queen is also missing, so this is not the complete concert. Rare performance of the full song Rock It. A release from gypsy eye label. Very enjoyable concert. 07) 1981-03-01; Buenos Aires Ripped by myself from the Snowproducciones double DVD (On the first disc the 01-03-1981 concert; on the second disc the three Bueonos Aires concerts from 1981. I have ripped this one from the audio disc (stereo channel) with DVD Audio Extractor directly to Flac level 8. 08) 1981-03-04; Mar del Plata This recording sounds like what Martin has written on his website queenconcerts.com: "Comment: Sound dropouts, average sound quality - only for die-hard collectors! But this complete recording is very rare and was compiled by myself from several sources." I have downloaded this recording from the queenhub in two FLAC files. I have cut these two big flac files into seperate tracks with a program called "CD Wave Editor" directly to FLAC level 8. Sorry, no lineage known. Thanks to the original tapers (unknown) and uploader (marcoekelo from the Queenhub) Thanks to Martin from Queenzone for compiling this bootleg from several sources. 09) 1981-03-08; Buenos Aires Date: 08/March/1981 Venue: Estadio José Amalfitani City: Buenos Aires Country: Argentina Source: Audience Recording/FM Broadcast Quality: Very Good + Comment: Last night in Argentina. This is a very rare complete recording of this show, it's a 2-source mix. The soundboard recording is VG- and audience recording VG+ which is a little unusual. 1st generation copy. |

10) 1981-03-20; Sao Paolo (Pitrek Best Of The Best) Band : Queen Venue : Estádio do Morumbi, Sao Paulo, Brazil Date : 20. March 1981 Recording type : multi-source compilation Following is a "slightly chaotic" description of this compilation The original audio (from the original TV broadcast) had a couple of gaps. I have filled the gaps with the 1984 rebroadcast (if I remember correctly I've used the full intro from it, and WATC / God Save The Queen). It still had some small gaps between songs and there was a fade out/fade in effect between Tie Your Mother Down and Another One Bites The Dust. Fortunately the video had these small bits, so I have added them where they belong. The compilation of these 3 sources was my "version 1". But them Olivier shared on QueenZone "Morumbi Stadium 81" which has the best sound, but it's incomplete. So I have taken the songs which ARE on this bootleg, and they replaced the songs on my "version 1". This is the "version 2". So from memory it should be something like this WWRY fast, LMEY, PTG, STL, Save Me, NIH, Dragon Attack, NIH (reprise), FBG, LOML, KYA, solos, Flash, The Hero, CLTCL, BoRhap, TYMD, AOBTD, SHA, WWRY, WATC and GSTQ are from "Morumbi Stadium 81", the full intro from the 1984 rebroadcast and the rest from your 1981 broadcast. A HUGE thanks to josedequeso, SirGH and ruth.olivier from QueenZone for providing me with the sources ! 11) 1981-09-27; Caracas Sorry, no lineage known. Thanks to the original taper (unknown) and uploader (unknown) 12) 1981-10-17; Puebla Queen Puebla, Mexico Estadio Guauhtemoc October 17, 1981 This is a mix of two sources from the first night in Puebla. There are still a few parts missing between songs, but this is most likely the best quality and most complete version of this concert we'll ever hear. About 95% of the show comes from an almost excellent first generation tape, and I filled in the gaps with an inferior source. The better source was shared at Queenzone last year in mp3, but luckily I managed to track down the lossless version. Source 1 lineage: AUD > Master > 1st generation tape > WAV > CDR (1) > WAV > FLAC frontend (level 8) Source 2 lineage: AUD > Master > cassette (x) > WAV > CDR (x) > WAV > FLAC frontend (level 8) Priceless moments: During the middle of NIH, Freddie reacts to the rowdy audience throwing shoes at the band: "Feels like bloody Chelsea Cobbler, I tell you!" (for those who don't know, Chelsea Cobbler is a men's shoe store in London). And at the end of the show, he says "Thank you for the shoes! Adios amigos, you motherfuckers! You bunch of tacos, goodbye!" However, it's worth noting that on the second night, these were his closing words: "Thank you for being a totally different audience tonight. We all thank you." The stories often circulate that Queen's concerts in Mexico were horrible for the band, but the bootlegs reveal that it was just the one concert in Puebla that gave them problems. Fans who attended the Monterrey show have also said their concert went smoothly. As for what happened in Mexico outside the concert venues, that's another story! Distribute these files only if they are left completely unaltered. As always with my shares, be sure that this recording is not made available at Queenzone or elsewhere in mp3 or any other lossy format. Keep lossless files lossless. Enjoy! Many thanks to Sir GH 13) 1981-10-18; Puebla Sorry, no lineage known. Thanks to the original taper (unknown) and uploader (unknown) All these concerts are checked with Audiochecker to determine the source of these files (lossy or lossless). If Audiochecker has some negativ advise, I have checked the concerts also with Tau-analyzer. If okay with Tau, I see them as lossless source, if not I have added the "(probably lossy source)" words to the file-name. Very dissapointing to have so less information for you all. Lot's of unknown sources, but better this than nothing :) I don't have any lineage of every single concert because some are downloaded from the Queenhub. In the early days of the Queenhub, sadly, it wasn't normal to create txt files with lineage info. Thanks to the original taper/uploader of this concert where/who ever you are ! Have a good download and keep things lossless which are posted lossless and lossy what is posted lossy here :) If somebody has better quality versions (or lossless versions from the lossy one which is posted), please think about sharing it here at least I would like it !! ;) If you have some additional information (about source desciption, tapers info or uploader info, maybe even lineage info), please let me know !! greetings Bokkepoot The Rapidshare-links: The "MP3-bonus" material mentioned before: 13) 1981-10-09 Monterrey part1 part2 |

According to QueenConcerts.Com Second night in Sao Paulo 81:: Comment: First seven tracks are radio sourced, the rest is an audience recording. As the setlist proves, this is a rare genuine complete recording of the last gig of the summer South American leg in 1981. Some tracks have really crappy quality, some are quite "good". |

Bokkepoot, first of all Big thank You for another Big torrent download! and im thinking about little addition: Buenos Aires AUD(kindly shared by Bob 2 years ago) recording with patches from SBD(same source as in this share)... This is my new compilation with small patches from SBD ONLY IN JAILH ROCK, N I H ,and DRAGON ATTACK. BUT i have question ::: I took Aud source for this compilation from my CD i burned about 2 years ago ,is it ok,or this action added generation to original files? and would be better to create new compilation with files taken directly from internet? |

I think I understand pogor's question. He asked if a WAV > CD > WAV conversion adds a new generation. The answer is no, WAV is a lossless format, so converting it into some other lossless format (like CDDA) doesn't affect the "audio information". |

Of course, the original WAV is better than a CDR generation, in terms of the lineage. But like CMI says, if it's a clean extraction from a clean burn, then you're home free. The only complaints will come from the most tedious of purists. |

If anyone can share or post a link for the Sao Paulo concert (21/03/81) I would much appreciate it. If it's as rare as you keep saying I wouldn't mind a copy. Many thanks. |

Maybe I could ask my "donor" if it's OK to share it here, but Eric - if you can share it, I'd gladly keep the pleasure to you :-)Hi ! Pittrek... About we trade... I can do this by posting a link for you to download? As I already explained, I actually sent a DVD for you. But after you say that I had not come, I dont sent back. =( I'm really sorry. It happened the same with Chris. I just want to apologize and do something to change this concept was that bad on me. I know how rare are these audios. If you serious collectors that I respect very much, not want, okay .. I respect. I just want to apologize. I hope they understand... Thanks Cheers! Hi bokkepoot, First of all THANKS for all the mega torrents you've put your time in, and for all the gems you've shared with QZers :) I have one small question regarding the following concert, I haven't downloaded this torrent yet and I surely will, but your answer may clarify things for other downloaders as well so here it goes: 07) 1981-03-01; Buenos Aires Ripped by myself from the Snowproducciones double DVD (On the first disc the 01-03-1981 concert; on the second disc the three Bueonos Aires concerts from 1981. I have ripped this one from the audio disc (stereo channel) with DVD Audio Extractor directly to Flac level 8. Was the audio on the DVD you ripped this concert from lossless, as in a PCM track? Thanks again for your mega torrents (and all the stuff you've shared before) :) Regards, B. |

Just bring it only as torrent, there is no direct need to upload first to rapidshare or other hosting providers. Later somebody will bring it to rapidshare for who can't use torrents. Thanks anyway greetings Bokkepoot |

As you can see in an earlier post, where I did have post the audiochecker-log from this concert, that 70% of the files is lossless and 30% is marked as lossy. If somebody has a better recording (100% lossless) or a better quality version of this concert, please think of sharing it here. The DVD which I did rip was an Audio-DVD. On this Audio-DVD you can find the three Argentina concerts in stereo, as well in 5.1 dolby surround (created by Snowproducciones). I have ripped the stereo one which sounds more clear than the 5.1 mix. greetings Bokkepoot |

Sorry, I did see a few audiochecker-logs that you've posted but I think I've missed the one for this gig. Thanks for clearing that up. By the way I don't have a better recording for the 1981 tour but I do have a better sounding (all instruments clear) 1985-11-05 Tokyo bootleg on silver which runs slightly shorter than the one you've shared. I will splice up the two versions when I have the time. Cheers, B. |

Unfortunately my lossless version misses GDML :( I got a question guys - I have a 13:06 radio commentary from the ending of the radio broadcast of the last Argentinian gig. Is here some nice person who would translate it to english if I upload it ? |
L-R-TIGER1994 22.05.2009 15:13 |
The Radio commentary (if I recall correctly)is mainly about an interview to the president of Velez Sarsfield Club talking about the incomes of the club thanks to the show and so on,I wouldn't say it's too important but I could translate it if you like. |

I've just checked, the first part Fernando Bravo talks about each member of the group, their lives and so on,then comes the interview to president Petraca, they talk about the shows, that many people were at the shows, the condition of the field after the shows, the incomes,etc... EDIT: yes I got it,as I said above, the first 6 or 7 minutes are completely irrelevant as Fernando Bravo talks about facts that everybody knows(Queen's members bio) and has some Radio commercials as well,I could translate the rest if anyone is interested but it really hasn't got too many important details as they mainly talk about the club and the stadium rather than the shows themselves. |
little foetus 22.05.2009 15:25 |
It seems the best sounding lossless version which is circulating is the one without GDML and with the long spanish commentary at the end. Unless someone has a vhs with a sound greater than this one including GDML, I think the best and most complete version will be a compilation of this one and a TV>DVD>CDR (so lossy) version of the recording. By the way, is there a consensus about the best sounding video? |

L-R-TIGER1994 wrote: so what happened to Sao Paulo 21 march 1981?should I put the mp3 version or is there a better version going round? Actually, that show is a very interesting one with a fantastic setlist. I really hope a good audience source surfaces for this concert. The MP3 version that exists is very poor quality. There's a bit from a radiobroadcast that sounds better. I wonder: does anyone know about a more complete and better version of the radio version? That would be amazing and we should search for that:-) |
merc07 24.05.2009 16:12 |
Could you please post the mp3 version you have of Sao Paulo 21st March. It may be poor quality according to others but I unfortunately I don't have it. So until a flac version is available the mp3 version will be perfectly acceptable. I'm pretty sure there are many fans out there wanting this concert, whether or not it's flac or mp3. Many thanks in advance. |

Double-U 11.06.2009 16:53 |
Until today I only had the 1cd mp3 -version of Queens Monterrey-show. And if we ignore the sound-quality it is a pearl, I think. Beside the first (and somehow careful) steps of parts from the forthcoming "Under Pressure" you can find snippets of "Back Chat" in a jam during "Another One Bites The Dust". So John is in his elements switching from one of his "babies" to another. Great to hear this. Thank you Bokkepoot for all your (I think) hard work regards W. |
