I watched the Today Show this morning and they had a critic on there who said Adam Lambert is as close we are ever going to get to a Freddie Mercury reincarnate. I've heard him sing and he's pretty damn good at the falsetto but what about the rest of his range?
For one, I think the man has a brilliant voice. He has an immense amount of staying power. I have only heard him once or twice, but his over-the-top behavior is certainly reminiscent of Freddie Mercury. Now, the question is this. Could his voice remain in great condition through long, extensive tours -- much like those that Queen endured?
I think he's great. Wasn't so fond of his "Whole Lotta Love" but that's purely because I think that song needs a 'certain' sound (young Robert Plant, Janis Joplin, y'know) but he did an amazing job either way. The high note at the end clinched it; he should go far, Idol or no Idol... he deserves it.
It's really his character that stands out for me. He's a great singer but he's just fun to watch as well.

Agreed, he really is as close to the "total package" that I've seen in a long time. I do love to hear him sing and I love to watch him perform too..this is what drew me to Queen initially bc of Freddie.
I personally think he's going to win!
Not only can he hit those high notes like very few can, but he also has charisma, confidence and is enjoyable to watch perform. He's no Freddie.. because our dear Freddie is irreplaceable of course, but Adam is on the right track for sure!

Thoughts, opinions?
Hi, Lisser!
How are you doing?
I still don't know the singer, but from what I've read here, he seems to be quite good. I'm definately going to look out for his performances.
Anyway, I'm just writing to thank you for the great thread and, why not?, the tip. :-)
Here is one that I think was pretty good.
*EDIT* fark, sorry, that was for someone I was RickRolling on MSN.
There isn't much of him on Youtube, I was going to link to this but it's not what I thought it was, he's only at the end of it for about a second.
It should be pretty easy to watch him on the (ugh) Idol site.
