For the record I think it's 1st or 2nd generation as I can't remember if I edited out adverts during transmission, or edited to second VCR at a later date. (I did have two betamax machines for editing purposes back then). Unfortunately these were only domestic VCRs with linear audio. Lineage is either Analogue mono TV broadcast > Sony betamax C9 > Verbatim DVD+R Dolby Digital 2.0 (256kps) or Analogue TV broadcast > Sony betamax C9 > Sony betamax C9 >Verbatim DVD+R Dolby Digital 2.0 (256kps) Approx 1.6 GB (23 mins 42 seconds) PAL with chapters (no menu) Vob 1 file Vob 2 file Remaining Bup and Ifo files (4 files in VIDEO_TS folder) Copy the two vob files into the VIDEO_TS folder (making six in total) and play with power dvd or burn to dvd with nero etc Screen shot A nice cover I created chapters for each song. NB - Betamax only lost the battle against VHS for one reason, and it certainly had nothing to do with quality. For Dodger |

I bet a lot of "young" people, or at least not old enough will search for it so here is the link ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betamax Thank you very much Kurgan! |

Thanx Kurgan, the screenshot looks top quality. Im dowloading asap lol |

Thank you. I didn't have Betamax. As far as I remember it was like a tape, turn it around and it played another 4 hours or so? 8 hours wasn't possible on a VHS back then. |

Thanks Kurgan, just finished downloading, looks great! I's say the Beta copy was direct from TV. Luke |
Dodger Taylor 12.05.2009 09:48 |
Finally finished downloading and burning to dvd.WOW what great quality. Unless its re-broadcast (which is highly unlikely) I doubt theres a better copy in existance. To me this has to been one of the best finds on Queenzone [/img] |

Does this DVD have a "normal" menu or the blue DVD recorder-created "menu" ? Because the screenshot looks similar to one of my versions |
Leonardo Venegas 12.05.2009 11:52 |
kurgan100 thank you very much for sharing your copy with us!!! Cheers!!! |
pittrek 12.05.2009 12:44 |
OK I've just started the download and the first file wants to be downloading 20 hours, which I can't afford. Could somebody please do a torrent ? |

Hopefully more gems like this one will show up on QueenZone. Now you got me thinking about a Cross box set... V. |

Thank you very much for this The Cross concert highlight! Great recording of a interesting concert with includes some new details for me. It look as Roger is playing two AC 30 amps there!? Or is it maybe Clayton J. L. Moss? |
mow955 13.05.2009 19:25 |
Cheers Kurgan, this is a superb quality show. Such an improvement on the other shows shared (no offence intended). There can be only one ..... and i think this is it. Thanks. ;-) |
inu-liger 13.05.2009 21:31 |
Wow, even though I'm not big on Cross stuff, this one was quite interesting, almost exciting for me to watch. Certainly a huge difference from the VCD quality stuff I used to download years ago. LMAO @ Vanilla Ice comment. Isn't that Joshua J. Macrae? |

Just want to point out that the mediafire links posted (and no doubt the rapidshare ones as well) are NOT my version but the VHS version. Now watch the confusion that ensues :( To get my Betamax rip use the megaupload links In my first post. Of course I have the facilities to create a lossless audio flac, but it will only add to the confusion now so I don't think I'll bother. |

The video still has some noise, but it's an ideal candidate for NeatVideo. I was thinking about another "pittrek remaster" but the audio is full of hiss and it's always better to remove hiss from a lossless source. Well I don't remember what did I send you last time but in the case that you make a lossless audio transfer and you will want to trade it, you know where I am :) |

Just to confirm, the rapidshare links are the ones i created for this sahre. http://www.queenconcerts.com/queenzone/1178979.html As Kurgan said, download his Betamax version. It is the best quality you could ever hope for. |

I post a sample of my version (lineage: TV broadcast ->master vhs (1987) -> 1st vhs copy from trade, with mono HiFi sound -> JVC SVHS player - >Canopus ADVC300 -> DV AVI -> NeatVideo filter -> HQ AVI -> Procoder 3.0 ->2pass mastering quality-> mpeg2 file as VOB - 7800 mbit/s video, PCM audio). Audio not altered (PCM 16kbit) sample: link I am not downloading Kurgans version, but if you find my version superior, I will share it sooner or later ( dont ask for immediate share, i am busy with other things in life and due to moving flats all my vhs are in boxes stored away - I found this AVI on my HDD from an earlier test capture I did. I still want to regrab it from VHS, and make tiny remastering with the colours, this one has too much green colour etc etc - that might be the ultimate version for a while (unless RT releases a boxed set or someone provides a Thames TV copy!) |
