Ew. How piss poor does that look? I realise it's trying to be true to the original artwork used to promote the concert, but I don't much fancy the cryllic text being retained. The design was fairly bland to start with. There's some brilliant bootleg artwork being done these days - shame we can't get one of those guys to do the official stuff. Sorry QP, another quality box left unticked on this occasion. Such a shame that the only quality we seem to get is when the guys are actually onstage. Everything that remains with their physical releases is shoddy and underdeveloped (ROTC vs Japan 05, Singles Collections, Ukraine). |

Saw it on Brian's site - it looks a lot better than the covers for other recent releases - (Singles box set, ROTC, Montreal), but I think a lot of people are still miffed at (again) getting a milking exercise of several different formats of the same thing, with no extras on anything. I'm still waiting for the 'really exciting fantastic' extras promised by Brian on his site that were supposed to be on the Montreal disc instead of the Saturday Night Live performances, but all we got was Live Aid which was already available!! |

Bloody Digipacks. Give me a PLASTIC box! |

Well doesn't look that bad as I originally thought, but still not very "professional". But anyway since the QPR project is probably over, I won't miss this one |

Same old, same old I'm afraid. Why we should continue to be surprised is a mystery to me. CD only for me I think - once it hits the bargain bins. |

Have you noticed that the word "QUEEN" can be read at great distance, while "Paul Rodgers" gets buried somewhere below? I wonder how some of you are surprised that the man's gone back with his former band. |

It's not overly inspiring, although well timed, a week after 'the announcement.' By the way, does anyone remember teh album club thing on Queenonline? It said there would be 15 free downloads from the show for members, did that actually happen? I joined it thinking there would actually be good info and stuff on it (I don't know why I keep falling for Queen's promotional blurb.) But i never heard anything after about the free downloads. Do they exist? How do you get them? (Not that i'm a skinflint or anything...) |

You got 15 free downloads in the beggining, but if you joined the album club later (I can't remember the specific date right now), I believe the thing was reduced to only 3 downloads or so. In fact, the downloading process was a mess in the beggining .... a sweet mess in my case, as I got 20 free downloads instead of 15 ;P |

I kept looking in the hopes of finding out how to get them and never found it. I joined it early, it was meant to be 15 when I joined, but it was before the tour began. |

I even got a bit angry on Paul- I think he was singing not good enough. And than this little magic! By the way I have the concert recorded, and it cost me about 3$. But of course, some time later I'll get officilal DVD |

finally received my pack a couple of days ago and it looks much better than expected. I like the set, also like how the booklet is attached and the information/pics it contains. That said ... I'm sorry. I keep saying the same I did in the beggining of times: this show is boring. Very boring. It looks spectacular, the video & sound quality are magnificent, we have this Freedom Square where planes landed during World War II and 350.000 people attending the mega-show .... but it is boring !!! Ok I won't go again with the "predictable setlist" discussion ... but the show's been heavily edited, many songs were shortened during the performance, we have more shots of crazy people in the audience, that blonde beauty and general shots of the square and the stage rather than close shots of the band. I don't - I can't - enjoy watching this show. I'm sorry. ROTC, with its lack of virtues too, is much better. To not mention Super Live In Japan: that's the good QPR DVD. Where are the recordings of the hot gigs in Milano, Madrid, Santiago and Buenos Aires, QPL ??? come sing with me the last verse of certain BM song: "... And every evening finds me The optimist behind me Gone with my lost opportunity" cheers! |
silver_salmon 25.06.2009 09:13 |
Really is boring!, It's a pity...with the big tour that they made, songs like: Las palabras de Amor Under Pressure A Kind Of Magic Surf's Up...School's Out (live version was very nice!) We Believe would have been interesting to hear them in a album from the tour...but not...always the same setlist with the concert which represents less the tour. Something like The Iron Maiden documental Flight 666 is more significant...every song from diferents gigs...learn! I'm waiting for the 2010 for "The digital super-remastered edition" with outtakes of the blonde girl!!!, nice Queen Productions you are very intelligent. |
