HA I woke up this morning to hear that Spinal Tap played a bit of my video link during their Vancouver show. I had to chuckle; making videos is quite clearly a hobby level thing for me, but it's really nice when it gets a tiny bit of recognition - like when Barry Dennen (Pilate from Jesus Christ Superstar) wrote to me last year. Just thought I'd share that. It made my week! |

Congrats soul-jah! |

That's really cool, you should be proud :) I watched the video on YouTube, it's nice. I like Freddie sneaking in towards the end ;) Btw - when you add a space to the link you make it clickable. |

I meant to say. The funniest thing I have watched on Youtube for a long time is you stealing someone's cheese and gagging after each mouthful. Here's a wee tip. when you take the black stuff (it was wax) off you're supposed to leave the cheese to breathe for a while. That's why your mouth tasted like Madonna afterwards. Well done again fatty. |
john bodega 19.04.2009 07:47 |
Haaa! Duly noted. |
Winter Land Man 19.04.2009 07:50 |
I can't watch the video, but did they credit you??? |
john bodega 19.04.2009 08:35 |
I don't believe so .. I don't much care either, after all it's their song that I used! Heh. I only wish they had contacted me first so that I could've sent them a higher quality version of it. |

Crazy LittleThing 19.04.2009 12:30 |
Well done Zeb! I'll be seeing them next month. I hope your handiwork is still part of the program. |
john bodega 19.04.2009 13:06 |
I hope so! They've probably got other ones to play if it gets old though... Still, if it happens to be on there, lemme know! |

Thanks all!! Something for me to remember in my old age, at any rate... I've been cacking myself at the Spinal Tap movie for all of those years, and these guys found *MY* video amusing?? It's nuts! Cheers. |
Freya is quietly judging you. 20.04.2009 07:27 |
Awesome! That is one of my very favourites of your videos. |
john bodega 20.04.2009 09:00 |
In hindsight I probably had more fun doing the soul song where I was dressed up as a black man. But the Spinal Tap one ended up better. Haha. |

Zeb: You are such a rock star! I saw Unwigged and Unplugged tonight at the Warner Theatre (beautiful place!) in Washington, DC, and yes, they're still playing your video. Michael McKean talked it up, said you were from Perth, and that they only know you as Reverend Scotty. The audience loved your video and it got a lot of laughs and cheers. They didn't play the whole thing, but it was up on the screen behind the guys for some time. After it played, Micheal McKean said something along the lines of "that's the second time he's worn that tuxedo." It was great seeing your video. I really enjoyed seeing it. If you're not already there, you need to go to film school. Cheers, Cindy |
john bodega 14.05.2009 01:51 |
Haaa!!! I'm so glad they enjoyed it, I really am.. Thanks for the anecdote! |

Congratulations again, Zebonka12! It's really great what's been reported by Crazy Little Thing. It feels so good when we put our mind into something and people appreciate it. You seem to be really skilled at that. I'm very fond of and happy for you! It's great news. Keep rocking! Hug, Yara |

you dont join on the language you join on the SUBJECT MATTER ......... like I joined htis because it's a queen forum, of course i would prefer one in my own tongue but it will serve the purpose think hypothetical for even one minute? if you had to lower yourself to someone elses (obviously inferior and useless) culture and language, would you want your attempts to say hello to be ridiculed? i ... you don't even..... |

you didnt even answer my question....... how lame..... answer me damn you !!!!!!! if you were (by necessary) had to post on a foreigner forum to ask a question or to talk in a topic, would you like it to be made fun of??? it's simple, if you cant give an answer to that then what??? |
Holly2003 16.05.2009 11:48 |
Could you repeat the question? I was listening to the footie. |
andreas_mercury 16.05.2009 11:53 |
now I know your joking and its a comfort!!!!!! but still cant you see how it could be at least the smallest bit annoying????? i know its tough to read to other people when they write in garbled language ..... but honest, there are more important things to talk about.... yes you can make fun of someone with bad language skills but then you miss the chances to talk about the IDEAS .... so much more important, |

I said it was amusing to hear non-English speaking people try to swear in English, not that I have a problem with people trying to communicate in English when it's not their first language. I have no problems with that whatsoever. Swearing is a bit of an art form: when it's done right, it's brilliant (when it's gratuitous, it's boring). The term you used -- balls sacks -- was funny. There's a difference between ridiculing someone, and laughing at something that's funny. |

This is a good example WHY you need to immerse yourself in a different culture in order to learn languages better, rather than studying it from afar independently. I think even talking to people through voice-chat applications like Skype is a good starter, if you can't afford to travel at this time. There are Skype groups out there for people who want to get help with their nth languages they're learning. |

andreas_mercury wrote: to inu-liger - thanks for the advice thats actually a good idea as I do use skype a lot ...... thanks You're welcome. Oh also, keep one important thing in your mind: I know learning languages can be difficult, and even with practice you might feel at times you're "not" learning it. Believe me, you will learn a lot with more practice, as there is also a lot of subconscious learning that will go with it. Hopefully that makes sense to you :-) |
inu-liger 17.05.2009 03:58 |
PS. I have to admit, I thought your "ball sacks" comment was quite funny, in a good way as well. Pretty original I think :-) |
