Heaven and Hell. I think it's just fucking awsome. These guys hasn't aged fuck all in my opinion. The first tracks(three to be exact) from the "best of" Black Sabbath, the DIO years a couple of years ago was pure kickass. Heavy riffs, speedy drums, hammering bass and finally an amazing vocal performance by RJD. Now, just the day be fore yesterday I came across the upcoming album "The Devil You Know" that is to be released late april, and this time it's even better. 10 rock-solid old school metal songs a'la Iommi, DIO. There is not a bad track on this album. Therefore I absolutely recomend you guys to get your hands on this masterpiece when it hits the shelfes. There is a promovideo of the track "Bible Black" up on youtube. Check it out! Cheers! //Henke |

i'm going to see sabbath (ok, ok, H&H) live on gods of metal in italy this year. can't wait! i love RJD but tony is THE MAN! when i see him i can say that i saw all my fav guitar heroes (these including brian, blackmore and knopfler). i listened to the new album 5 or 6 times and it's good, my fav song is bible black. it's the "grower" album as i like to call it, there aren't songs on it that will instantly grab you like neon knights or heaven and hell. the songs slowly grow on you |

i gotta say though we dont have a singer this moment, (am TRYING to find one even worthy of our material) but this singer isnt so bad. actually hes great but the music itself isnt a shadow of some of our stuff. |

I got pretty enthusiastic after reading your comments and I'll try to look out for it. Hopefuly today when I go out! I assume I have to search for Heaven and Hell in the store, right? I know it'll come across as a silly question, but I'm really very ignorant about all this, though I did enjoy Black Sabbath and liked Heaven and Hell the album. I loved that album, really. "Neon Knights" rules, I love that tune. :op I like the early Sabbath too. I've just watched on Youtube some clips I had never come across from a gig they did back in 1970, in Paris. It sounds just great and the footage is amazing! "Black Sabbath" the song is beautifully done. Take care and thanks a lot for the tip, Major Tom! From Ground Control :op, Yara |

I'm doing great, thanks for asking! You? Yeah it's out...go get it goddamnit :)! It's a really really solid album but as always it's nowhere near the old stuff, and by that I mean ,of course, the Ozzy stuff. For many MANY years I just couldn't stand RJD, basicly due to Holy Diver, I think. Young and dumb I bought the Heaven and Hell album, sat it for a spin only to realise it wasn't Ozzy singing. OH THE AGONY. Then I bought The Mob Rules album, well same thing here. Who the hell is this guy...HAHA, he's tiny! Like a Italian smurf. But then I really gave it a go and I'm glad I did cause most of the DIO-SABBATH stuff is awesome. Even the Born Again album with Tony Martin(is it?) is a favourite album of mine. The Black Sabbath feat. Tony Iommi kind of wierd albums other than that, I haven't really bothered to listen to. Is there anyone who can give me a verdict on those album it'd be much appreciated. And Yara! If you haven't heared MEGALOMANIA with the original four Sabs, I highly recomend it. Mystical metal at it's finest. Take care! //Henke |

on born again album ian gillan from deep purple is vocalist. tony martin did 4 albums with sabbath- the eternal idol, headless cross, tyr and cross purposes-some great songs on those albums! my fav sabbath singer is dio but my fav sabbath period iz 70's with ozzy. ozzy's voice was great for 70's sabbath songs, they sounded like from some horror movie and sick. with dio they are more evil but dio sounds great on most ozzy songs while i can't imagine ozzy singing a dio sabbath song. after sabbath i really don't like ozzy at all but dio's albums were great |

I know nothing of Black Sabbath, honestly. I like their hits but that's it. All I know is I love Dio and will follow anything that he is on. |
Major Tom 06.05.2009 14:07 |
Aw come on Zeb!! The hits are for kids! MEGALOMANIA, GYPSY, DIRTY WOMEN. Give it a go! |

I hope you had a very good weekend! I hung around the mall today and bought the Heaven and Hell's album. Judging from what I had the chance to listen to so far, I guess I'm gonna just love it!!! Thank you so much for the tip! I think I'm going to listen to it a lot, it's really an interesting album. I'm happy with the tips I've been getting recently. :-)))) I just love Megalomania, the song. I thought about listening to it again and typed the name of the song into the youtube search box. There's a wonderful, full live version of the song from the mid-70's which is so beautifully played and performed that I found myself smiling and in awe during the whole piece, which clocks in at nine minutes plus!! :op I hope you like it. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WrTZweHXTI It's from a concert in New Jersey on 8/5/1975, it seems. You likely have already watched it, but I thought it'd be nice linking it for people who don't know the song, or this version, yet. Sorry all you guys if this comes across as out of place or annoying. Thanks a whole lot again, Henke, and I wish you the very best. I wish the very best for all you guys too. I hope you had a great weekend! Take care! Yara |
