Just last year I was happy downloading and listening to novels. Then I somehow found myself searching You Tube. Well one thing leads to another. Wanting to put Freddie & Queen on my Mp3 and to hold the actual cd I began searching Amazon. And they have an okay selection.
Now I find that my life has been taken over by the need to listen to Freddie & Queen all day. You know while I'm driving, at the gym and home doing chores and what ever. Can't listen at work though.
I recently added Freddie's box set that includes Mr Bad Guy and Barcelona plus a bonus cd. Now this is played more often than the others.. Maybe because it's new it's seeing the Mp3 more often.
Anybody else ever had or having the same experience?
My last question is does any one know how to purchase of You Tube.
The Garden Lodge Improvisations is what I'd really like to have.

So..let me see...you are asking in a Queen forum if anybody else experienced the need of listening to Queen and Freddie songs all day long???...Let me think...oh..yes...At least it's been happening to me for the last..let me say...17 years!!!
Welcome to the club!!![/img]
sure thing!
its happened to me, and possibly to most people on this forum.
I suppose we all get obsessed with certain bands, even certain songs every now and then. The thing with Queen is that that feeling refuses to go away.
As a senior in high school in 1975, we were all into Queen. Killer Queen had been hugely popular previously, and BoRap was just starting to get the exposure.
Well, went to college, then got married, raised two grown kids, and 26 years later, about two years ago, I heard "You're My Best Friend" on a t.v. cruise line commercial, and just like that, started the research, buying cds, reading everything available online, and getting a daily Queen dose ever since.
No, it's not strange or abnormal and it's comforting to know that we're all in good company. Rediscovering Freddie and Queen at this late age has been like a re-evolution of myself. I have two mp3 players loaded with Queen/Freddie and housework is more enjoyable while listening. No matter how crappy your day is, a little Freddie always helps.

Hi, dear.
What attracts you more about the band? Why - hard to say, but, well, maybe there's a hint there - do you think Queen has such an appeal for you to the point of being addictive, let's say?
I, for one, tend to think it's normal - it's not always helpful to qualify our feelings and stick to the adjectives. It doesn't matter, in this case, whether it's normal or abnormal: what matters is that you enjoy it and doesn't cause harm to anyone by doing it.
If normal means doing what's generally accepted social and moral rules prescribe, then yes, you are absolutely normal: being a big fan of a band isn't any kind of anomaly! And if normal means here only "what often, usually happens within a certain context", then, yes, you're absolutely normal again - fans of bands tend to get this need of listening to the artists they love.
So, I found it interesting that you expressed such feelings, and if possible, well, I'd love if you could share with us what turns Queen into such an addictive music for you.
What really attracts me the most about the band is Freddie Mercury. I just love his singing, his stage performance, his musical cleverness and his brilliant compositions. Listening to him either live or on studio is often a most rewarding and helpful music lesson or lecture.
For as much as I love the guys, Roger and Brian, I am more or less a fan of John Deacon and think his departure was as damaging to Queen as Freddie's death: even if Freddie hadn't passed away, I think Queen would have had a hard time finding another great musician to replace this guy who was, among many other qualities, a great bassist.
Hey guys! I know what you mean...no matter where I am or how busy I am with my day to day work, I always somehow make time to listen to atleast 2 Queen songs a day (unlike other bands I've listened to, I never get tired of Queen)....And any song by Queen makes me smile and feel happy...it is no wonder I carry my ipod around everywhere I go!
