Your thoughts on Gimme The Prize

I really enjoy listening to it, the power in Freddie's voice it's just amazing. Brian's RS also gives a lot in the song in terms of energy. I think is one of the Queen's late piece of art but I think it's very underated among Queen fans. I heard also that Brian and Freddie never really liked it. Dunno why, do you? I'd like to read some of your opinions on this song. Cheers |

I hate the intro with the film crap. It could of been single material if that wasn't in it! It was John and Freddie that don't like it according to Queenzoners, but, in reality, I heard it was just Freddie that didn't like it. After a while, people said John didn't like it either, but that's Queenzone for you! If Freddie hates something, so does John. That's how people think at least. Brian wrote it and LOVED it! He actually thought it was the next Bohemian Rhapsody. He got mad everytime the band decided not to release it as an A side to a single. |

I like when the "bag pipes" join in during the solo. Overall, a little to heavy metal for my tasets, but I still enjoy it more than "Hitman". |

Apart from 'Princes',its my favourite song on the album,it rocks like a Muthe F@%$er,and Brians guitar sounds possessed,especially in the solo,meshing beautifully with the bag pipes.............. |

I'm not a fan of the movie quotes throughout the song. Otherwise, it's a nice rocker, and would have made a solid concert intro if the band had wanted to give One Vision a break every now and then (and, you know, if Freddie hadn't hated the song). |

I think the intro is fun (somebody wrote he didn't), and I think the guitar riff is all right, Freddie sings great as always... My favorite song on this album is Pain is so Close to Pleasure, but I belive I think this is the worst Queen album. It has it's moments of course! |
