Last items I bought for my collection: Queen - Staying Power (JAP 7" picture sleeve) Roger Taylor - Happiness (numbered LP) Q+PR - The Cosmos Rocks (5 dollar cd. Not worth buying on vinyl imho) Freddie Mercury - Mr. Bad Guy (Germany, LP with sunglasses sticker) The Cross - Blue Rock (Germany LP, I swapped that one, so technically I didn't buy :-) ) Now I'm "complete". That means I have all vinyl LPs inlc. solo, all Queen singles wich are released with a picture sleeve (only in 1 format, so not all variations on for example Bo Rhap picture sleeves), and a selection of DVDs and VHS' tapes I like. Most items in my collection look like they left the recordstore just yesterday: mint. |

Jake, what's wrong with you ? You start to act like a very reasonable adult person, nice Inu-Liger - nice collection, I bought first 3 albums - the Japan vinyl replicas and I plan to buy next 3 tomorrow :) |

Jacob Britt wrote: Nice purchases Richard!!! I've still got to get into buying Brian and Roger's singles and some of their albums... I also want to get a lot of stuff by The Cross. Cheers Jake. Personally, I usually don't go about in a certain way of collecting my items. I just take them as it comes (provided I have money of course AND it's a price I can agree with :-) That said, I've got some more nice items coming my way, could be here within 2-3 weeks depending how long the slugs (postal service) take. Mail from the US is so slow coming into Canada -.- This lot includes the very rare "Gettin' Smile" LP :-D |

pittrek wrote: Inu-Liger - nice collection, I bought first 3 albums - the Japan vinyl replicas and I plan to buy next 3 tomorrow :) Nice. I like the idea of the vinyl replicas, but with the exchange rate between the Yen and the Canadian Dollar currently being higher than usual, I won't be getting those anytime soon as they are not high priority for me atm. |

- The Singles box - C-lebrity (7'' picture) - ANATO (French White vinyl) - AOBTD (Miami Project clear 12'') I used to have a rule, to buy all the singles first, then the 12'', then the LP's.. but after a couple of years it's starting to depend more on how much I have to spend. But always had a soft spot for weird vinyl. |
| Erin 20.03.2009 10:36 |

As regards canadian pressings it's quite strange that LIAR was not issued there, I've never heard any report of it. I always thought that they followed the USA ELektra decisions. Another great rumour is the existance of a red mercury label of the SMILE single made in Canada. But probably this is just legend. |

However, I've been lucky enough to come across Canadian copies of the Starfleet single AND the Man From Manhattan single, both here in town quite incidentally! (from the same store too, although there's other record stores I've found some other nice Queen items at as well...) So who knows what could happen. But the US Liar single itself is very rare too, so going by that reasoning, any Canadian copies would be even harder to find. However, I could strike gold any day, who knows? :-) |

My latest great discovery: Queen Greatest Hits LP USA Elektra 5E-517 (withdrawn) Making a research on Elektra discography you'll see that the 5E-517 catalogue number is missing. Well, to be precise you can verify that no commercial release appeared with this cat. no. With the number after, the 518, many of you got in their hands a copy of the Queen's Flash Gordon soundtrack LP in the USA Elektra version. In November 1980 EMI uk planned to release the first Queen Greatest Hits. The stopped everything and then decided to release Flash Gordon, postponing the Greatest Hits in 1981. As for the UK, you can find first promotional campaing informations for the cancelled 1980 issue with sleeve proof and test pressings vinyl, also in USA an advance promotional LP was also found clearing the mistery of the missing catalogue number 5E-517. It's more likely a test pressing even if you read the assigned cat no. The track list is different from the one that everybody find in the known GH LP (Elektra SE-654) with Flash and Under Pressure missing and different track position.. [img=link |

Did they intend for us to try and promote ROTC now? I dunno, LOL. Maybe they are: a) Trying to clear off warehouse shelf space of promotional items that were supposed to be displayed in the stores in the first place or b) Appealing to the collector in us, perhaps? Either way, CD and t-shirt aside, the ROTC posters are a curious inclusion. Especially 10 of them... HOWEVER, it's free, and I paid nothing for it, so :-P I'm still flabbergasted by the Italy CD though. I was NOT expecting that, by all means. And I tried to get it on eBay before for a reasonable price (failed). Good thing I didn't try too hard and actually waited :-) |

I recently won a few eBay auctions. You're My Best Friend 7" from Yugoslavia: $51 USD The Queen Singles Box from Japan (3" CD) at $55 USD. I think I may have overpaid. What do you guys think? I'd never spent that much on any Queen record before! The only way I can spend that and manage to sleep at night is that in the last few weeks I sold a similar amount worth of Queen records and made a very good profit. |

I Want To Break Free (US 7" Promo) In The Studio - A Night At The Opera (US Transcription CD) Live From Italy (US CD Promo) Live In Ukraine (UK 'Tin' CD/DVD) Love Of My Life (UK 7" Demo Copy) Party At The Palace (UK DVD) Queen On Tour (UK Promo CD) Queen Talks (UK 1997 Promo CDR) Say It's Not True (Uk CD Single) Driven By You (US Compass Promo) Last Horizon (UK CD Single) Barcelona (UK 1992 CD Single) Love Kills (German 2006 CD Promo) Happiess (UK CD, 7" and 12" Singles) I Wanna Testify (UK 7" Demo Copy) These purchases were only possible because I had a huge clearout in my house and sold a lot of stuff on eBay. Sadly, like many here..... Only 'Return of the Champions', 'The Cosmos Rocks', and 'The Unblinking Eye' within a month of their release. And no 'Montreal'. |

You mean one of those award style plaques with the LP record plated in gold?? How much was that? Also, would you be able to upload a photo of that? Very curious to see that :-) |
| Harry_queenrecordings 06.09.2010 03:21 |
Yes. It looks like an award behind glass. I saw it and I loved it right away. There was also one of the album Innuendo. Both were CF400, about 300 euros. Expensive, but it's really beautiful and I love the album. I will upload a picture of it soon. |

Wow, has it been really since last September that this topic was last updated?? Anyways, just won these on a Japanese auction website over the last few days, with a couple more items I'm hoping to win as well: link Queen At Wembley Laserdisc link Minako Honda - Oneway Generation (CD-Video) - this one has the English Version of "Crazy Nights" which is incredibly hard to find on CD! |

Today I picked up the first album for £3.99, and believe it is the first pressing? (EMI release CDP 7 46204 2) Either way it sounds great! |

Tea Party country (the band- not the political movement!). Amazing band -especially the earlier work. Yeah, I could imagine it's cold there. I'm an Aussie but currently living in Paris so I'm suffering at the moment a little too. The croissants make it worthwhile though. |

Hah, I forgot that Tea Party band even existed! They were pretty good, don't know why I never got into them though! |

Grab a decent pair of headphones and listen to a non-mp3 copy of "The Edges of Twilight" if you ever get a chance. You won't regret it. |

My latest purchases include the Flash Gordon and Greatest Hits II LPs. I am still on the lookout for Made In Heaven! Also, I found a Queen special magazine from 1975 that I bought off eBay :) I'll admit, I haven't bought as much Queen merchandise as I usually do, which is a bit disappointing, but I'm always on the lookout :D |

I recently bought the 30 disc 2011 remasters boxset, mostly for the extras on the second discs since I don't have much of a singles collection prior to The Miracle (from that point on I have most UK CD singles). There does seem to be some production variation of the remasters, mine doesn't use super jewel cases just the standard older style ones. Bought online from Hong Kong, I left it too late to get a decent price from Amazon (my fault). I also recently bought the 30th Anniversary A Night At The Opera CD/DVD combo digipack. The surround sound mix is definitely not as good as the DVD-A which I already have, except for God Save The Queen which was an upmix on the DVD-A and is from the multi tracks on 30th Anniversary. |

I'm was really into buying the books lately. 40 years of Queen (it's still the best book on queen ever and one of the best official releases the last couple of years) Queen: The complete fully illustrated lyrics. (Even the b-sides and bonus tracks from the 2011 ep's are included) Queen 40, the legend lives on. Nice thread. Keep them pics coming. |

Yeah good call on the books. I love Sutcliffe one from a couple of years ago. Really reignited my interest in the band, |
