Hi Hopefully a straightforward question (one that Greg Brooks may be able to answer, or those who have bought the new vinyl releases): They are advertised as 'remastered' - do we know if these are NEW remasters just for the vinyl, or are they just a previous remaster version (for example, and most likely, from the latest existing remasters used in the Japanese mini vinyl series)? Thanks |

I think the more accurate question for Gregarooski would be whether the original master tapes were used... 99% chance that they didn't do this. They probably didn't even use an analog source when putting together this new vinyl! |

IIRC some people said it sounded like it came from a CD master o.o I saw the vinyls for QII, SHA, ANATO and ADATR (I think) that were from this re-issue series at a local record shop last week. I thought they looked like shit. Honestly, the printing quality is not that good - looks more like it came from a high-quality photocopier rather than a professional printer. SHA especially looked the worst. And they ask $25 for these each? Fuck that. Thankfully the vinyl for Cosmos Rocks turned out really good. I finally got it in earlier this week, and it's awesome :D However, can't say I'm fond of the gloss print - catches fingerprints WAY too easily :-( |

I have QII and SHA. Both have a slightly different mix to any of the versions that came before (though close to the latest Japanese ones). But, indeed, they obviously source NOT from the original analog masters. It's pretty audiable they come from a digital source, which is a real shame for high quality audiophile pressings!! |

TCR... nice album... NOT QUEEN! so do not judge it as such. The things most people loved about Queen came from Freddies head. (not that head) So that will never be again.. I too was a bit pissed off about the sleeve reproductions. Terrible quality photo's, and the ANATO sleeve has a cream-color which I'm quite sure the original did not have. (though they might all look like they do nowadays) And If the original DID have this color, it sure as hell did not have a small text-box on the back which WAS white. |

The original ANATO sleeve DOES have a slightly cream white colour sleeve ( I have an original '75 US sealed copy) The 2005 30 year anniversary edition is white wich is definately NOT the same colour as the original issue. |

"Hate" was a strong word. "I don't like" is a much better term describing my feelings against all Freddie's 80's songs including those you mentioned |
