The Street Team is hoping to get Queen nominated for a Kennedy Center Honors Award. This award is considered to be similar to Knighthood in the UK.
To nominate someone for a Kennedy Center Honors Award please send a letter via regular mail to:
The Kennedy Center Honors
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
2700 F Street NW
Washington, DC 20566
They welcome grassroots nominations. In your letters you might want to include tidbits of information that would demonstrate how Queen have extraordinarily contributed to the Arts within the USA. People are recognized for their excellence and their contributions. With their record sales and number of top selling singles and albums in the USA you would think it would be impossible to ignore them. Hopefully if enough letters are received they will have to recognize Queen in their next group of hopefuls!

I think it would make it a heck of a lot easier if Freddie were still alive, if John were still active, and most importantly if in no way Paul Rodgers would have anything to do with the name Queen.
Can you list out the exact criteria for getting listed for the honor? Do 2 remaining active members count?
No question Queen is worthy. The musical accomplishments of this never to be equalled foursome are the stuff of legend. Without the genius that was Freddie it never would have happened. He was the face, the voice ,the raw driving energy that pushed them to excellence. There was something about the four of them together that was pure unrivalled musical magic. Individually they struggled but together they soared.
Do the remaining members have to agree to have Queen put forward?
