Does anyone know if there's an official DVD of the 08 tour planned? |
jeffuk49 12.01.2009 15:47 |
I doubt it now, Liverpool was going to be filmed and due to record sales bombing (It was expected to be a hit) and the reported problems between Q +PR cant see it happening |
Zodiacal_light 12.01.2009 15:51 |
What reported problems. Was there friction there? I had a feeling there was somehow |
Jjeroen 12.01.2009 16:35 |
It was said that the Kharkiv recording was intended to get a dvd release. |

Would be nice if they release some pro shot, but if they don't I don't really care. |

Zodiacal_light wrote: What reported problems. Was there friction there? I had a feeling there was somehow There is no friction. Unfortunately, some very anti-QPR people (like fairydandy) have been stirring up the pot of shit to sneak in unsettling comments in their purported 'reviews' of shows (I'm doubting) they've been to. They've also been acting like tabloid newspaper workers, trying to twist the Queen members' own words out of context and into something else Even Brian commented on the supposed 'QPR is splitting up' thing (which he said is absolutely not true at all), due to people starting up shit like that right after the tour was over, partly based on a slightly ambiguous Soapbox entry of his that some people conveniently took to mean something else (yeah right). Perhaps these people that take supposed reports of the QPR members looking 'bored and tired' onstage, not surprisingly moreso near the end of the tour, have never played tours, let alone single shows, to truly understand how much playing so many shows in 3 months (not to mention the touring and travelling logistics involved) will take out of someone. And that's also following rehearsals as well. I would understand this better than most people, considering I play in a band myself. Oh and don't forget, these guys aren't 25 anymore either. Amazing what the powers of the Internets will do to some people. And yet I STILL don't understand what motivates these bastards to commit such cruel acts. I'm just thankful fairydandy doesn't post here. That guy is one of the nastiest anti-QPR trolls out there. |

according to someone on qol, they had talked to justin shirley smith, and he said the audio on the ukraine gig was being remixed for a dvd hopefully it will be out brian also said that they were gathering multitracks from the south american shows... |

When JSS says remixed for DVD, does this mean they're re-working the mix differently than they did for the theatrical presentation shown last year? |

inu-liger wrote: When JSS says remixed for DVD, does this mean they're re-working the mix differently than they did for the theatrical presentation shown last year? Yes. It probably means that Brian is back in the studio doing his usual over-dubs (which, let's face it, Kharkov WAS a bit rough). Hopefully Paul is doing a few overdubs as well. I also hope that they just go overboard and release a "South American Tour" SET, which includes all the concerts that were filmed. (I'm dreaming, I know - we'll probably get a one disc extra to Karkov with some shitty "highlights" on) |
MmP 14.01.2009 06:57 |
At least in Argentina I saw Paul really having a great time. You could tell by his face. |
e-man 14.01.2009 15:26 |
Ukraine needs studio work, no doubt. But I'm sure it will look and sound fantastic. I have no problem with this being the official product, but I hope that can include a disc of extras from south america (or indeed other shows, if the screen feeds have been recorded). and now in the blue ray age, you don't even need an extra disc |

Just because you're in a band does not make make you any more privvy to the goings on within Q-PR (the minus is intentional). Your post is no more credible than the one suggesting that there has been inner turmoil with the trio. In fact, recent evidence gives such rumors more credence than your constant, rose colored adoration of Q+PR. The album flopped big time, you simply can't deny that fact, and the longer it drags on the clearer it is that no US tour will happen. Nobody is interested over there and there's no longer any point pretending otherwise. It wouldn't be the first time Brian May has said something misleading. IF Rodgers has in fact cut his ties to "Queen", there's going to be some red faces........but no doubt you'll still be banging on about how Q+PR was the greatest thing to ever happen to rock music. "That guy is one of the nastiest anti-QPR trolls out there." And that's from the jackass who states those who prefer the real Queen are from "The Church Of Freddie" What a moron. "Oh and don't forget, these guys aren't 25 anymore either." Really slows down The Stones and The Who. "And yet I STILL don't understand what motivates these bastards to commit such cruel acts." They're not "cruel acts" you idiot. It's called having a grounding in reality and the common sense to realise and admit when something fails. Your own arguments sink themselves |

Hello trollness, my old friend, come to taunt me again. I'll admit that the album didn't do that well commercially (despite the fact that it DID peak at #5 in the UK album charts, and did better than 'Made In Heaven' did in both the US Billboard and Canadian album charts) in terms of product sales. That's their fault (Queen + Paul Rodgers, EMI, Parlophone, Hollywood Records - you all know who you are) really for not pushing for enough advertising (I saw absolutely none here at all). Nor any music videos being made for Christ sakes (and using Al Murray as a placeholder for such?? Fuck that) Look at what Metallica did. Look at what AC/DC did. Their albums fared way better because they and their companies actually PROPERLY advertised their products, and look where it got them both :-P (#1) Doesn't change the fact that I still think it's a fine album, and certainly a lot less overproduced like AKOM, Miracle, Innuendo. Why don't you stop being a whiny little bitch Ken and leave me alone. In exchange I'll leave you alone as well from now on, as far as this debate on Q+PR & Cosmos Rocks (which is obviously not going to leave the boundaries of your favourite playground sandbox) is going. You can go find someone else to trollstalk. |

It doesn't matter what you or I think of the album, as far as the record buying public are concerned, it stank. Just because you think it's an overlooked masterpiece doesn't give you any credence for your flights of fantasy. Again, nobody is going to put money into promoting something deemed a lemon. "TCR" is a lemon. If AKOM and "Innuendo" were "overproduced" what do you call "ANATO"? You don't get the real Queen. Go away, you're a joke |

Would you care to prove, as the onus has always been put onto me to prove the facts I quote, that "TCR" has sold more in the US & Canada than "Made In Heaven"? Just because it #5 in the UK for ONE WEEK, doesn't mean it sold in any great numbers. I think you'll find "Made In Heaven" eclipsed it in overall sales. It had Freddie Mercury on it. Nuff said. |

If Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Yes can go on without original members, then so can Queen. The Division Bell, Burn, Heaven And Hell, and Drama are great records by musicians who simply wanted to create music with the tools that were available to them at the time. Same goes for The Cosmos Rocks. I'll never figure out why some fans feel they have more authority on this kind of matter than the founding members of the band. If you didn't like the record, then go listen to something you do enjoy instead of coming to a forum to waste webspace on negativity that nobody wants to read. |

We might have one of the biggest fan bases, but we also have the some of the most hard-headed fans. It's one thing when somebody leaves the band, but it is a different case when a member dies. But either way, it is ok to keep doing what you love most and for Bri and Rog, that's music. These Queen fans act as if it was Freddie Mercury's band, even though Mercury himself said otherwise. Brian was the biggest key element to Queen since he formed the preQueen band Smile that brought Roger and Brian together in one band. |
