Why isn't there good music? What the hell happened? I hate rap music and always will. I hate pop stars like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. Can anyone give me a good music artist or band? I need to listen to new music. |

It sucks because the record companies and the ones who own the media are purposely dumbing down people and taking away creativity from the masses. They want dumb people to buy mindless garbage music with no talent, its a generation brainwashing. We are moving towards a new world order. |

For once to lighten things up just a bit... There's always some good new music around. You just have to know where to look, and realize your own standards. Helps the search if you tell everyone your preferences. "Good music" doesn't count really. In my case, I've been recently listening to artists like Esperanza Spalding, Richard Cheese, Stone Gods and a Finnish science-progfusion band called Kuha. (with the dot), and a lot of old and new J-pop, also having found a few favourites there: Yumi Matsutoya, X-Japan (some of you might recognize this one through Roger's collaboration with Yoshiki), Super Butter Dog, Polysics, YMCK and Ryuichi Sakamoto. None of these I would have found unless I had a few friendly recommendations. |

So tell me, is it SO bad that your gov't is investing money in a small group of tweenagers, who are supposedly the world's biggest bestest band ever, that will be enforcing this new world order by way of SUCH AWESOME MUSIC, yet you guys can't find time to stop in-fighting, find decent musicians, write and record decent songs, and *GASP* study MUSIC THEORY??? I guess POP (or read: hitlist-music) has always been crap for the most of it. Like other posters above said: you just have to look behind the COMMERCIAL, music for the masses stuff. Even in the 80's, a period I genuinely detest musically, there was great stuff being made under the surface. It's the same right now; there are some MAJESTIC bands or acts out there that are making worthwhile, timeless art. And we, in this age, even have the advantage that even the most obscure stuff is just a click away. So, my friend, just click a little deeper and find what you are looking for. |

Seconding Ryuichi Sakamoto here...That being said, music does evolve and certain traits do become outdated. Notice the lack of beat variance in Beyonce's single "Single Ladies"? Well, you should get used to it, studies show that songs with regular beats are harbingers of economic malaise. Aside from that, finding good music isn't necessarily an easy task; the music we are fed virally every day is pop and is made to marketable and thus appeals to the lowest common denominator. With all of that said, there are some good acts here and there and some old acts still continue to deliver (eg: Einstürzende Neubauten). Gnarls Barkley was quit good with their first album.. but it seems that their second album didn't do too well...anyone have any reviews? |

And in light of economic troubles, I doubt even parents of tweens would want to spend that money now (not that they ever would want to, to begin with) on shite artists like Hannah Montana. It's one thing if you use a click track, particularly to help sync to visuals that go with certain songs, but miming should be outright illegal. If I had my way, artists would be required BY LAW to note in their show advertisements whether it's mimed or really live, and face huge fines if they make false advertisements :D Otherwise, if I want to watch people just faking a show, I'll stick to YouTube recordings instead. |

In my case, for recent about a year I've enjoyed searching good music from the world music, especially the one of the Middle East or Africa or pan-Mediterranean, which has been less marketable. I've been happy to realize still there are lots of good music around the world. Besides Queen, I usually listen to them: Tinariwen ( a band formed by Tuareg poeple of Sahara, Mali ), Souad Massi( an Algerian of Kabyle descent. She is a singer, a songwriter and also a guitarist.) Ojos de Brujo ( a nine-piece band from Barcelona ), Niyaz ( a three-piece unit known for their mystical sounds whose lead singer was born in Iran and raised in India but now lives in L.A..) and more... |

Anyways, I don't know what your band has been doing as of late, as far as trying to make music goes, but I'm happy to report, having resumed my band practices earlier this week, that we have some new material ideas we've tried out on Tuesday, some of which was rather interesting. I don't know if any of the ideas we jammed on have titles yet, but there's this one piece that's really interesting, it's very dark and heavy compared to a lot of our previous material. It's keyboard driven of course (our lead singer got a new keyboard and module over the holidays), but not in a classical sort of way (sorry to disappoint you TM), but it's getting a bit epic I dare say. It's a new sound for us in some ways. And it's 7 minutes long too, which is a bit unusual considering our songs are usually around 4 minutes on average, but then again nowhere near as long as this 20-minute blues jam we did during one practice last summer(!) I'd post a sample, but then again, you'd probably call it crap, and also rip it off for one of your future 'compositions' :-) Zebonka's welcome to hear a sample however ;-) |

The reason? You claimed AT FIRST that it WAS going to be a show "in front of thousands", and lately you've been pulling a George Bush, claiming instead that it was instead a small show from the beginning, trying to weasel your way out of admitting that you were lying the whole time (In other words, trying to change recent history to your advantage) Also, it's been WELL past September, when you said the show WAS going to happen and be filmed, and you keep saying over and over since that you haven't "met up with the drummer" or whatever to get the video. You've had nearly five to six months pass since then. That's MORE than plenty of time to, say, have band practice, meetings, etc.! It's time you fess up that either your temporary drummer has quit and cut off contact altogether or has destroyed the video (should it have ever existed, conveniently) due to its obvious embarrassing content, or that you guys don't exist as a band anymore (due to Milidrag finally seeing the light and realizing what a shithole you guys are), but as a neo-classical wannabe duo (you and your fuck-buddy brother) instead. |

Hey, go easy on him, Inu. Considering his mental capacities, the way he counts is as follows: 1, 2, many. Thus, when his father (wearing earplugs), his mother (wearing earplugs) and his lover (a.k.a brother, wearing thongs) came to watch his show, it was impossible for him to distinguish between "3" and "thousands", since both are "many" to him. |
