1980 was a great year for Queen, they played a lot of great shows and this show in Brussels(13/12/80)is no exception. They are truly on fire from beginning to end. Freddie's voice is in great shape, he's able to hit some key high notes which he often misses(like in Death on two legs). This show is packed with moments that show why Queen at their peak was such an amazing live band. Check out the improvisation in the beginning of Keep yourself alive. Freddie wants the audience to join in but they're quite slow to react. But as Freddie once said in an interview he ALWAYS wants to win over an audience so he his persistent and after trying to get them singing along 3 times he finally succeeds. When hearing that I thought: now that's a true performer! Many other artists would just stop trying but not Freddie. He's got guts. But this entire show and in fact the entire tour is an example of what a great rock show should be: tight, energetic playing, great atmosphere with audiences that are part of the show.
Does anyone else have anything to say about this show?:-)
You are right, i only saw them in 1984 (the Works Tour) and 1986 (Magic Tour) and it was great but when i look at the "on fire" and "montreal" DVD's i must say they were great and at their peak. It was just the four of them (+ Morgan Fisher) but still a raw rock show. I liked the concerts from 84' and especially the 1986 tour but i would have loved to see them in 1980 and the "live killer" period(grazy tour) and also 1977 tour etc.
