I am a sportswriter who attended the Jan. 1 Rose Bowl Game between USC and Penn State. For the halftime show, the Penn State Band performed Queen songs. They did WWRY, Fat Bottomed Girls, BoRhap, Bicycle Race and Somebody to Love.
That's awesome news. I'm currently one of the drum majors for a college band and to hear that other bands are using Queen as their field show music is kind of inspiring. I've seen bands perform Fat Bottomed Girls, Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Me Now, and Crazy Little Thing Called Love on the field...but never have I seen a band perform Bicycle Race or Somebody to Love! It must have been incredible, especially for a band like Penn State. Or so I've heard.
Yes, this is WONDERFUL to hear!! [/img] The Blue Band is a wonderful group who knows their music. Now I wish I watched the Rose Bowl instead of the NHL Winter Classic.[/img]
I myself was watching the Rose Bowl and was pleasantly surprised that during halftime a few minutes of the Penn State marching bands performance of Bohemian Rhapsody and Bicycle Race was shown. USC won 38 to 24. Atleast Penn State is able to say they had the best music. May i ask for which publication borap13 writes for?
