Hi.
Your help is necessary to me. I have a concert of Marillion which passed in Cologne, but I can't cut it on tracks as there is no exact an information about set-list and duration of songs. If will help to find it, I can share this concert
19.07.1986 - Müngersdorfer Stadion - Cologne, Germany
01 Garden Party 02 Freaks 03 Assassing 04 Misplaced Childhood 05 Forgotten Sons 06 Market Square Heroes
PIC: Ticket by Nicole Welzel - Ad (Musikexpress) “The Videos 1982 - 86” with Tour Dates
INFO:
Marillion with Craaft, Level 42, Gary Moore and Queen - Last entire
Misplaced Childhood - Guests on Stage: Brian May (Market Square Heroes)
and Fish (Queen's R n'R Medley) - Andre and Thomas in the House!!!
Actually, It's not 6 songs... "Misplaced Childhood" is the name of the album released by Marillion in '85, and that would be played in it's entirely (like a super-long medley) at the '86 gigs..
So the actual setlist would be something more like:
01 Garden Party
02 Freaks
03 Assassing
04 MISPLACED CHILDHOOD SUITE STARTS
Pseudo Silk Kimono
Kayleigh
Lavender
Bitter Suite
Heart Of Lothian
Waterhole (Expresso Bongo)
Lords Of The Backstage
Childhoods End
Blind Curve
MISPLACED CHILDHOOD SUITE ENDS
05 Forgotten Sons
06 Market Square Heroes (Incl. Brian)
That's the information I have =) .. If I find something regarding the time of each track, I'll post here
PS.: I'm a huge Marillion fan, so if you want me to help you with cutting the tracks (cause I know the start/end points of the songs) drop me a line at icmrocha@ig.com.br and I'll be glad to help !
Misplaced Childhood is a phenomenal record, so it's great to know they played the whole record on stage. So, that means their set was well over an hour long... that's pretty long for a support slot!

Btw, does anybody have a recording of the Queen show and would be so kind to share it here? I ask because I've been there :)
I go to see my parents tomorrow, I should search the photos I made, must be somehwere in my room at their place.
Would a compilation of a 1st gen tape and a high gen tape be enough ? [/img]
If AP-Racing shares his Marillion recording, and you your photos, "somebody" should also share Queen concert [/img]

It sure is a long setlist for a support act on a regular concert.. But I actually don't know how this European tour used to work, I think the concerts used to be all-day events (with Queen being the main event). Like a festival, or something =) anyone could confirm that?
Just for a quick trivia, that's the same setlist Marillion played in all Queen concerts that they opened in '86 ;-)
Yes, it was a all-day festival, all bands did quite long gigs.

Ofc :) Anything would be apreciated a lot, but I guess you talk about the best available like the 2nd one mentioned on queenlive?
i was at this show too. marillion were a bit boring because they played in daylight and all the great lightshow was missing. fish sat on the monitorbox for most of the set and he was not very enthusiastic. also listening to misplaced childhood played exactly like it was on lp was not very exciting although i really loved that lp then.
at the end of the show they played a medley of market square heroes and lets twist again and this was the part where brian came in and the crowd got mad for the first time. it was his 39th birthday too. a few weeks after the concert i got a recording from that song where you could clearly hear the red special but it got lost somewhere. recently i got a recording which was so bad or high gen that i couldn't figure out brian anymore. if you have a nice recording, please upload it here. it was quite a historic thing i guess. also the complete gig would be appreciated. anyone got big country from knebworth?

It's strange that I made a LONG post originally but everything after the smiley (incl. the smiley) disappeared.
I originally wrote that if you share your photos and APRacing his Marillion recording, I can share a compilation of the 2 sources, but after 12.of January (700 MB is too much for uploading from home). Of course somebody else can do it if they can do it faster
pittrek, AP-Racing sent me the concert and I'm cutting the tracks (it's a mp3 file containing the whole concert).
The quality isn't very good, though... (B- in my rating) but it's listenable.
I'll upload here when I'm done. =)
