What do we have now, 87 threads on this? Nothing is confirmed either way, but it's not looking likely. Smart money is that Q+PR is, unfortunately, a thing of the past. |

Can you please provide a list of all 87 links please? As for the second statement - because people want to see/hear Queen and Paul Rodgers? As for your third comment we also have lots of threads/comments from people jumping to their own conclusions who would just love this to be the case - but why? You have no evidence to back any of this up. I'd love to see them again but more so would love them to continue recording new material. Haven't you read recent comments from Brian on his website? I think the guys have earned a well earned rest after the recent tour and recordings over the last year or so. I hope for our US Queenzoners that they do go on tour in 09. |

Sarcasm is like a good, sharp vodka. Either it's your thing, or it's not. I'm one of the US Queenzoners you describe, and I would love to see Q+PR again, but you don't need quotes from Brian, Paul, and Roger to see the writing on the wall. The setlist got stale and the changes stopped happening. Paul seemed lethargic and bored onstage at times, and the posts I've seen here relating to his demeanor toward fans seemed to again project the image that he was tired of the whole project. The album flopped, especially in America, and considering that they couldn't even sell out arenas for a "Greatest Hits" tour in 2006, why would they possibly think that they could sell out arenas in support of an album that tanked? The guys may decide to remain together as a band and keep making music, maybe even tour Europe again, or decide to head back to Japan. But a US tour looks about as likely as a Pink Floyd reunion--complete with Syd Barrett and Rick Wright. |

Apologies for the sarcasm no offense intended - I just feel we need to try to be positive and not create a self fore filling prophecy. After seeing Paul with Queen on the recent tour I wouldn't describe the performances as lethargic -they delivered what a wide range of fans wanted and would expect. Maybe they need to more closely consider which venues to pick for a US tour but they would be better prepared after the last one. I suppose we can all keep speculating for the next few months - we'll just all have to wait and see. |

how do you know that ken if your in Australia? If journey can sell out a load of ampitheatres with a new singer, why cant QPR do the same. The promotion for a summer tour would be a lot easier as people like to go out side for the shows than a winter/spring tour. |

Kilpat1 14.12.2008 23:59 |
well in situations like ampitheatres, they do a great job(that is the venue) of promoting the line up of shows for the season. Bethel Woods for example, where Woodstock was held is a new venue, and they promote the lineup of shows they have in various places, so you know who is coming. Seeing Journey draw 15,000 people there made me scratch my head. I think the ampitheatre idea is the way to go for the summer. I hope they are convinced to tour here. |

Personally, I'd expect a few concerts if they do any -- two on each coast, something like that. Kind of like the "test the waters" shows they did in NJ and LA in the fall of 2005. Likely not a full-fledged tour, but a few kick-ass full arena shows to please the fans and have some fun. Just my two cents...And I, too, would go anywhere in the country to see them at least one more time. Didn't make the European 2008 tour due to flight costs and a new son. Greg |

As persuasive as these allegations and arguments that Q&PR are over. I'll believe it when I actually hear it. I don't doubt that they had an argument...but that's kind of childish reason to support why they allegedly "broke up." How many bands fight? Jesus, I've had God knows how many fights with different people I've been in bands with. Logic would assume if they fought...they're just taking their time and thinking things out. I have heard there will be NO Us tour. I think a lot has to do with the ecomony here. And as people have been thinking that the affair between Queen and PR is over. Even though Brian has said no they need time to step back. I hve noticed that Paul's website link has been removed form his site.. I also heard in an interview with Paul, he remarked"I,m not use to touring with superstars." this was during the South american tour. Someone posted that Brian and Paul did not sign autographs or take pictures. I don't know about Paul, but Brian did interact with fans. He got annoyed with people who ask him to sign stuff and then found it on ebay with in hours. But, near the end I think he caught on to thse people as in one link on youtube, you can hear him tell someone ," No ,I throught with you. only 1 per person and you got yours." But he did interact with a lot of fans on the tour. Personally i think that they can do a tour without Paul Rodgers. I mean Brian and roger can sing. they have jamie, Danny and Spike as backup. they could put Rogers son rufus Tiger on the drums and go back out on the raod. But, Just to let everyone know Brian is writing a book on TR Williams and stero photograph. He hope to have it done by the end of This month and sent to the printer to be published in September. so he is a bit busy at the moment and quite on his site. Lynn |
justys 14.02.2009 07:30 |
And I wonder why can't you stop speculating about their future and wait for some offical statement from the band. There was one when Brian said (or wrote on his website) that the rumours about the last tour weren't true. And they need time. So we don't need rumours. And do you really think that the removal of the link of PR website means something?! Oh come one they are not children. It was removed by accident or maybe Paul is gonna change his website (couse nothing happens there still the same information no news). I don't know. anyway this whole QPR speculation is boring...really...couse we no nothing untill they say something. And as for the interviews they've said many things and it's hard to say what they really want to do next. Paul and Brian quite recantly said that QPR can have a future...and sometimes they say they don't know. So you know it's pointless to speculate about QPR when teh band really doesn't know what will happen...I would advise patientce. As you said Brian's writing a book, I thing Paul and Roger are having holidays so they have better things to do now and they don't have to constantly think about the future of QPR. For me they've done enough if they do more I will be extremely happy:) to all impatient fans(and those who hate QPR:) ) I think on Febuary 24 or 25 there will be WWRY press conference with Brian and Roger and I'm sure that journalists will ask them about the future of QPR. So maybe you won't have to wait long for some offical statement... |

I'm not surprised and I was expecting such news to be honest. Brian some time ago said it also although with his "maybe". It's still not offical but I think they won't tour this year. And it's normal they spent a lot of time together last year first on the album and then during this huge world tour. They need a break and not only few months the tour was great and I'm sure they had a lot of fun but also it was exhausting...they aren't old but they also aren't young...but I have this feeling that we will have another big QPR tour in the future...but nobody knows it's just my feeling. We should be happy of what we had. I still remember their concert which I attended, it wasn't very long time ago...only few months..it sometimes amazes me... they've just finished recent big tour...and do you really expect they will announce next within few months...oh come on...obviously not. The one thing I wonder is if they do another album in the future. If the answer is yes we can expect also new tour but..I don't know maybe in 2010 or later..:) I'm really glad of what they've done as QPR and really it was the only chance for many many people to see them live..and especially for new generation of fans who wasn't even born when they toured with Freddie...it was wonderful. But nothing lasts forever unfortunatelly it will have its end as everything in this world. But the wonderful memories will stay forever. But maybe we will have another chance to see them on tour as QPR. So why can't you really wait for what the band say about it? The discussion about QPR future is really pointless untill they say what they are going to do... And as for thequeen he's just a liar...so don't pay attention to his "news" about QPR..he knows nothing he proved it many times. |

Brian and Roger will promote the real QUEEN music in 2009. Vinyl re-releaseing, cd single box etc.. Possible Budapest DVD later this year. QUEEN will be remember as QUEEN, and they will take care of that. |

They aren't as old as the Stones. They should still be out there and recording and touring, if they're going to be doing anything 'active' or current w/ Queen's music. If the most they're willing to do is a god-damned musical, then they oughta go into hiding like John and pick through the archives and start compiling video & audio anthologies. One way to re-strengthen their fan base in the States would be to start cranking stuff through VH-1 Classic. Look at what it's done for other groups. That would be smart. But advertising and promotion hasn't been their strong suit on this side of the Atlantic...is Mr. Beach responsible for that? Or Hollywood Records? Either way, it's assinine. I do not think there will be a US tour. If you check out Bad Company's website you will notice they are going on tour and dates have not been released yet. So that should mean not Queen + Paul Rodgers Us tour. I did suggest to Brian they have Mig or one of the other people from the WWRY show to do the lead vocals. No respose yet. Anyone near Manchester on Wed (March 25th) go to WWRY as Brian and Roger will be there. so at least you can see them live. |
