I always hear how great this is, but...can someone explain to me why people think that? :) I DJ (well, VJ) and whenever I play UP I play one of the live Queen versions, but my friend wants me to play the Bowie/Lennox one. I don't think Bowie/Lennox even liked the song UP to begin with, and it just looks to me like an average karaoke performance with two people dressed up cool. The audience seems to know the song better than they do, so why are they on the stage singing it? Apparently Brian May has called this one of the best performances...but of course he says that all the time :)
I'm trying to be open-minded...am I missing something?
I remember an interview in Rolling Stone to Annie Lennox where she said that she mainly appeared in the tribute because she wouldn't miss the chance to sing along with Bowie, but that in the end all the tribute thing seemed "spinal tap" to her.
