I never get fed up. but there are of course times when I listen less to Queen and more to other bands. Queen has always been my favourite band, but I also consider myself a MAJOR fan of bands such as Deep Purple (and Rainbow, Dio), Springsteen, Kiss, The Who, Alice Cooper and Thin Lizzy. So as you can Imagine, I have alot of stuff to listen to when I go easy on the Queen albums.
My roommate listen too Hip Hip all the time, and that's something different. But I like the old school Hip Hop from 1991 - '95 especially. There are also plenty of Queen songs being sampled by rap artists, songs like Save Me and Princes of the Universe...
One of my friends discovered a band called The Brian Johnstown Massacre about one year ago or three, I went to see them at Hove-festivalen and it was great. The scene performance weren't that good, but they played the songs perfectly. There were no crowd, maybe only 200 people, it was like discovering a hidden gem (OR SOMETHING). They're really worth a listen! Now you got to read that story[/img]
I have been a diehard fan for about six years and in that time I have learned to listen to a wider variety of artists ranging from other glam rock bands to jazz and to even the great composers of the baroque, classical, and romantic eras. I can hardly express my love and adoration for Queen, but I will and can never stop listening to other artists. Queen themselves are diverse, which is one of the very reasons why I love them so much. Therefore, I myself have a diverse taste in music. On a side note, as a musician, I classify myself more or less a jazz musician who is willing to explore other musical avenues. Point is, Queen are but one of many artists who have influenced me.
I started being a Queen fan 1977, when someone played WWRY and WATC at a school party. But since then I always listened to other stuff, sometimes extremely different music. I always had Queen mixed in at some point, never stopped listening to them completely. I even gave away my (totally worn out) Queen LPs at some point back in the 80s because I was embarrassed about their new music style which I still don't like.
If I want to simplify it, I would say: I had changing favourites over the years – Two Tone, Reggae, Metal, Brazilian music, even Johnny Cash. Sometimes Queen manage to regain the number 1 spot, like in recent months. But they always were at least my number two band. Imagine where my nickname comes from ;-) ?
Glitter??? Damn you boy!
I listen to Metallica, GNR, VR, Sabbath, Zepplin, Maiden, SOAD, but then again, I can listen to Neil Daimond, Kylie, anything that floats my boat really....and I really like the latest Girls Aloud track!
AC/DC,
Black Sabbath,
Clash,
Deep Purple,
Extreme,
Faith No More,
Green Day,
Helloween,
Iron Maiden,
Metallica,
Nirvana,
Offspring,
Pink Floyd,
Queen,
Ramones ...

God...some blasts from the past there...!! I remember listening to them all....as well as wearing all the fashions, high waister flaires, huge round collar shirts, platform shoes (fell off them once, broke me ankle....)..sigh! such good times.
Does anyone remember a band from the 70's called Geordie??? A one hit wonder with a song called All Because of You...I think.
Geordie? Their singer Brian Johnson has become rather popular around 1980. That's when he left Geordie and joined AC/DC ... still with them. But honestly, I like AC/DC only with Bon Scott - a lot!
