http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370053612340 Is it just me, or is that item COMPLETELY OVER-PRICED??? |
Charlie Brown 12.11.2008 00:51 |
Hi Jake, i believe that the purple coloured 45 of Bohemian Rhapsody is worth between 2000 and 3000 dollars, so that record on Ebay is probably way over priced. |
pittrek 12.11.2008 01:45 |
Well 9$ would be too much for it IMHO |
Micrówave 12.11.2008 11:00 |
I've never heard of this release. And I doubt any guy that's trying to get a thousand bucks for it. Is this a legit release, anyone? It's pretty easy to make a CD these days... |

It's legit and worth a lot of money, as is the regular (non-promo) Scandal US CD single...not $1000, though. [/img] |

WOW.Waaaaaay over-priced.Although you'll probably get some idiot that would spend that kinda money on this |
vadenuez 12.11.2008 13:16 |
The funny thing is that the seller is going to put $1,000 in his pocket and he's not even saying "hey, the shipping & handling $3 are on me". |

this was planned as the official release, but it was withdrawn. very rare indeed. the andres voigts priceguide ( 2001 edition ) gives it a 250 usd pricetag. another scandal cd with a different print and setlist was released but only as promo. |

[/img] By the way, the CD he has isn't a promo. It's an actual single that's been withdrawn. Har har. He said he'll give anyone $50.00 for any promo singles. |

The catalog number is #CDP 7 155142 - CD and P..as in promo. well, all other USA Capitol Promo-CD singles from that time have the label code: Capitol DPRO and not CDP. also the 1 Track US Capitol Promo from Scandal, i talked about has the number: DPRO-79785. the promo is not as rare as the withdrawn one. 50$ would be a good price for it in my opinion. |

1000 USD ... this is crazy ! anyway, I'll check it later when I get home, but ... I have this cd-single and I'd swear there's one detail that caught my attention when I bought it 6 or 7 years ago .... Stealin' is not listed on the tracklist, although the song IS in the cd. A print error, I supose, wich makes me think that maybe I could get .... 3000 USD for it on e-bay !!!!! [/img] |
Erin 13.11.2008 10:52 |
Hmm...I looked at my Capitol CD of The Miracle, and it does have CDP at the start, like Brian May's Wig had mentioned. So, I stand corrected. I did find it odd that the one track promo starts with DPRO, and the other CD didn't. The guy says it comes with no inserts, which made me think promo, because I've seen pictures of the US Scandal CDS with inserts. HijackED My Heart was written on the back, as well. |
Vali 13.11.2008 13:48 |
Take a look at my copy. Printing error I guess. Stealin' not listed. Auction will start at $7900 [/img] cheers |

Yes, this guy is out of his mind, but... sometimes ebay finds that one person in the world who will throw caution and dollars to the wind and just go for it, not willing to risk losing the auction to another individual. I remember paying $3 for an odd, used record which I eventually sold for $128.50 to a winning bidder in the Netherlands. Completely unexpected. This Scandal CD is definitely NOT a promo, it is legitimate, and i have verified that it's the same catalog # as the one I've got myself. At the time, I was a singles buyer for a small family owned record/cd shop here in the USA, and remember this well. Like any number of CD singles of the day (still rather early in their evolution), it was most definitely released in this stripped-down inconspicuous way: no slip cover. Makes it more difficult to quickly distinguish from promos, but this was definitely the legally saleable commercial release. "Withdrawn" is an odd word, though, which I don't feel applies to this release. Like many unsuccessful singles, it was discontinued shortly after release, which applies in this case. But it was released (I had to order it and pay for my own copy), not recalled, not withdrawn, just a commercial failure which didn't last long on store shelves, overall. Peace |

I did see one on ebay with inserts. I wonder what the deal was with that one. Maybe a limited amount were released with sleeves? I wish I had saved the image. It was the only place I'd seen it, and I think they were trying to get 500 bucks for it. |

Funny that the tracklisting says the song is called "Hijacked my heart" whereas the b-track to The Invisible Man (on both cd-single and viny single) is called "Hijack my heart"..... |
Brian_Mays_Wig 14.11.2008 06:36 |
I have AKOM on 7" single and plays the same song on both sides, I got it off ebay for about 50p, I only wanted it for A Dozen Red Roses for my Darling!.......£15000 startin bid please! |
lalaalalaa 16.11.2008 17:32 |
The most I've ever paid on a rare Queen cd is about $55.00 for Queen in Nuce :P Then I saw Queen: Pre-Ordained which had the same songs plus songs that aren't on Queen in Nuce which was about $10.00 lol |
Winter Land Man 22.11.2008 18:33 |
Guy will never have a buyer. It's still up! |
