Just got a package in the mail today! I bought it off of eBay a few days ago for abut $50 (seemed like a decent price). My parents said I'm not allowed to open it until Christmas....but.........[/img]
Hopefully it'll be a good game, but even if it's not, I'm still glad to add it to my ever-enlarging collection. I'm still happy to have all of the edits of the tracks. Is The eYe really that rare?
I bought the eYe about 5 years ago, but I have not played it so much. Not be cause I didn't like it, but because I'm not very good with computers and mine crashes every time I try to play a game. Any game...
Just the other day, I visited a second hand store across the street with LP's, CD's, DVD's and cartoons, and I bought a book with the same cover as the game, it's called "The art of Queen - The eYe". It's tells you more about the game, NOT very much about the band... I paid about 8 £ / 100 NOK for the book, it was enough.
I never made it work on my current computer with XP, I think you need Win95 or even DOS to play the game. I tried the emulator "Dosbox" and Win95 with Microsoft Virtual Machine but both is running very slow. So I will keep my old computer with Win95 just for this :)
Does anybody know how to make the game work properly on current computers?
Anyway, you can still play the cds and enjoy the really nice audio.
Imagesfiles (GI) and Audiorip (FLAC) are available in my queenhub folder btw.
Nice game, good music (works in your cd player too, which is a great pro) and pleasantly difficult, but HORRIBLE video angles which needlessly complicate matters from time to time.
Never really liked the game. Finished it in a week or so and never played it again.
Made copies of the discs (for the audio) and sold the game on eBay..
Run it in compatibility mode (can't remember where this is set but just right click the .exe and I think it's all there, in the properties tab). It's probably due to the VESA video drivers, used in a lot of DOS stuff (including my beloved Fractint, that doesn't work anymore) and killed by XP.
