anyone know what happens to the gig money.take the secc,120000 seats say £50 a ticket makes 6 hundred thousand pounds.what would the break up be.hall rent, roadies, managment, advertisment(but none in scotland lol).band members.would it be an equal share.or was suggested in an earlier post.backing band such as danny and spike(by the way i beleive spike is better than a backing musician).would get less.would the main money go to brian roger and paul.just a late nigh curious question.
it's very expensive to prepare such a show, so part of the money goes to the production. Another part goes to the venue, and anothe rpart goes to thepromoter. I thik that, more or less, Queen production will get 200.000 GBP

You are probably right. Maybe they get even more. Think the promoter will get around 100.000 GBP. Big acts such as Madonna, The Police, U2 and Metallica get paid a lot more (up to 1.000.000 US dollars a show.)
200.000 GPB for QPR isn't that bad at all....

No, not bad at all...they make more in 1 night then I make all year, maybe 3 or 4 years, lucky fuckers. Plus on top of that Money, I'm sure Roger is getting laid by some hot chicks.
Guns and Prince were the most well paid in Rock in Rio 2, I think they were paid $250,000 each (but I'm guessing it was more).
Bands usually are paid independently of the sales - they have a fixed price, paid by the promoters, then with this they pay some of the expenses, like tech staff & roadies (hotel and plane for example is paid by the promoters too). Then the producers can cover this money with ticket sales, advertisement & sponsoring, tv broadcasting (although this money can be shared with the band too) etc.
I remember reading somewhere that Jamie and Danny (dunno if it was Spike as well) made about 1500 pounds at each gig.
I'd be interested in knowing if that source is correct
as for brian, roger and paul..who knows....I'm sure none of them do this for the money (though I imagine both Brian and Roger are loaded compared to Paul :) )

I dont think its quite as clear cut as that.
Whilst Im pretty sure Bri and Rog are wealthier, I dont think the margin would be as large as you suggest given Paul's (almost certainly greater than Queen's) success in the US market with Bad Company and suchlike.

how many albums has paul sold incl free and bad company?
I remember Paul commenting on the subject as well, saying he was well off, but not in the same way as brian and roger
I'm pretty sure Spike, Jamie and Danny are paid a set wage (although it's probably a good one). I'm sure the shows are making money. the production of the shows are good, but I expect that the finance is better these days, although I don't see any sponsorship on the tour. It would interesting to know if Queen (proper) with Fred and John would have used sponsership or continued financing the tours without, which of course would cut their profits considerably compared to what the Rolling Stones must make
