Possibility of it being recorded for DVD? I'd like to think so, since I was there and all that. Shame the crowd wasn't as hot as it was for Glasgow (the other gig I've been to on this tour), but still a very good gig in all. |

sigh.... No offence, but I've been having this exact conversation now for 20 years, so you'll have to filter out the boredom... "Lots" of cameras? More than were used to put those pics on the screen at th eback of the stage? (Or did you think that was a previous night and they were just REALLY well choreographed?) Did you see all those hardworking tech's taking the film out afterwards? and finally.....did you not hear that this tour's DVD has already been recorded? |
Fenderek 06.11.2008 14:25 |
Obviously you must have never seen the gig that is being recorded. Believe me- you wouldn't have ANY doubts if they were recording it. I was in Sheffield in 2005 for instance- a completely different gig than 6 others I've seen that year. The lights (and I'm not talking stage lights, but the lightning of the venue), the amount of cameras, all the cranes and stuff... Oh- and least once someone from the stage would mention the fact, even off the record.... |

I thought the same thing there was alot of cameras. But thinking later it could have been for the screen behind the stage. |

There were an awful lot of condoms there, too. Whaddaya think that means? |

The gig was a pile of wank? |
Headlong24 06.11.2008 17:39 |
The Birmingham gig had hundreds of cameras, it was called people taking pictures:) |

I sure as hell hope that they are filming the show in South America that is going to have 300,000 people or more for God's sake. Please don't tell me they are going to do an audience the size of Knebworth or bigger and they again are not going to film it. Please tell me that they are filming a gig where they PLAY songs from "The Cosmos Rocks" and not just the first one where the show was almost the same as "Return Of The Champions". Otherwise why did they tour at all? What's the deal here?! |

And to be honest Penetration, I don't really focus at the end of a gig on whether the tech guys are taking film out of cameras. There certainly weren't that many cameras at all though for Glasgow. That's what sparked my curiosity. |

I'm no expert, but I can imagine, that the post-production of such a video can take several weeks. It doesn't make sense to film one of the last concerts of the tour, and then present it to the public many weeks after the tour is over. I think, they want to have it ready towards the end of the tour. Maybe another point: From own experience I know that filming in an Eastern European country can be much, much less expensive than in Western Europe. |

Hi, I have been chatting with Neil Murray, I asked him whether there was going to be a cd/dvd release from tis tour to which he said that unfortunately there wouldnt be. Hope they have a change of heart Keep rocking |
scprof 07.11.2008 08:36 |
On the side of the remote cameras at the front of the stage, it had HD, so they would possibley have recorded it in Digital, meaning that there would be no need for film to be taken out of it. |

to add my 2 cents... Last night at O2 arena in London there was: 2 'hotheads' down the front i.e. remote controlled1 'locked off' camera for Roger at his main kit1 'roving' camera for the catwalk/thrust2 proper big studio type cameras in the sound/light area And yes, they were obviously just feeding the screen (although they could have been recording just for archives). The first thing I checked for was a crane (jimmy jib) camera and there certainly wasn't one there!!! TRULY STUNNING SHOW BTW!!!And yes - I did mean to shout!!! |

If you want to start this...well, let's call it a "Knebworthian" rumour, how about the fact that some of the first O2 show was recorded...for Al Murray. |

From what i have seen at the (13) shows I attended is that the cameraman around the bstage continued to shoot actively (!) during the songs where the big screen was showing animation only (why? ... and Al Murray 02 was also recorded...) so my guess is either all feed or the final mix had been recorded onto HD at the camera mixing desk at all concerts, though the band is denying this to avoid further demand from fans. |

Is it not possible that the cameras are just "on" during animation so that the "director" can cut to them if either something interesting happens or the animation fails? Does it have to be the case that just because you saw a bloke pointing a camera while the animation was on, ALL shows have been recorded in HD? |

Last month I received one of the official Who-bootleg dvd's from The Music.com. Seems like some artists know how to please their fans. |

The only one that could held so many people was the 46664 festival, in Rio, but it was postponed, and we don't know if Queen will be there when it finally takes place - I'm guessing they won't. They'll play in stadiums both in Chile (20,000 people) and Argentina (45,000 people), in a small arena in São Paulo, Brazil (6,000 people each night - not sold out yet, due to poor promotion and absurd prices!) and a bigger arena in Rio de Janeiro (12,000 people, better prices, might sell out). |
