What should be the next single? I reckon We Believe, which may not be my favourite track on TCR, but would almost make a perfect Christmas record. |
ITSM 21.10.2008 12:01 |
I think it will be "Small" or "Surf's up... School's out". Just my thoughts...[/img] |
Lord Fickle 21.10.2008 15:46 |
I hope it's not Surf's Up. In my opinion, it's the weakest track on the album, and probably one of my all time most disliked Queen tracks. |
david (galashiels) 21.10.2008 16:30 |
cosmos rocks-live version. |
junketerQ2 21.10.2008 16:54 |
I think it should be "Small" - great song! |
The Fairy King 21.10.2008 17:40 |
Dunno, bet it'll be something embarrassing. :P |
david (galashiels) 21.10.2008 18:46 |
i still think the cosmos rocks.live.should be next.sort of queen song that would stick.like quo rocking all over the world. |
Cwazy little thing 21.10.2008 18:57 |
I'll be quite surprised if there is another single actually! Theres been next to no promotion, so I suspect they're done already! |
david (galashiels) 21.10.2008 19:05 |
cwazy you could be right.shame if its true.we(me wife 2 kids)attended the secc concert and the kids loved it.as did i.but.there was limited advertising for the album.the single bombed.it's a shame because i thing that q+paul works live.maybe in years to come we will realise that this trio would have made a great stadium band but maybe not album,or single, band. |

joe90 21.10.2008 20:51 |
I think "Call Me" might be quirky and catchy enough to be a single. As others have suggested "Small", "We Believe", Some Things That Glitter" are possibilites as well. |
Josh Henson 22.10.2008 06:30 |
I hope to God there isn't another single |

Some Things That Glitter is the best song in the album, IMHO, but I am not sure if it appeals to Joe Public. I think "Soft" singles could be "Small" or "Call Me", and "hard" ones "The Cosmos Rocks" or even "Still Burning". On another note, "Surf's up..." could possibly appeal to the "alternative" public. Cosmos Rock is a great disc, indeed. People here point four or five diferent songs that would be a next single! |
Localboy80 22.10.2008 11:33 |
If there does happen to be another single, then I cannot believe nobody has mentioned the best song on the album. I really hope they release 'Time To Shine'. |

Do you not think QP will be milking this for all it's worth? Nothing ever stopped them before! How many singles were there from MIH? Must have been at least 5, all duplicates of album tracks (except HFE), with crap videos to boot. I'm pretty sure the Queen machine won't miss out on a potential cash cow, by putting something else out. Of course, there will also be the now obligatory live album and DVD from the current tour as well. [/img] |

Since the album's press release was posted, I've been betting that Cosmos Rockin' would follow C-Lebrity, with Runaway as a b-side. And someone above mentioned a live version from Cosmos Rockin'... It sounds quite possible, I think. |

I wouldn't mind betting CR will be a future single, but I think they would choose one of the softer tracks as the follow up to C-Leb. |

I personally think We Believe would be awesome - but if we stop to think about what would make a better choice from the commercial point of view, I think CR (maybe without the One Vision-ish long intro) would be perfect: It's the title track, they made a wonderful edit from the Kharkov video (they removed the little glitch) that could be using for promotion, it's short enough to get lots of radio airplay, and although it most likely isn't the BEST song from the album, it's certainly one of the catchiest ones. ;) |

Personally, I feel that We Believe would be the best, as it has the 'peace and love' message that goes down well at Christmas, and would therefore, commercially, be a good Christmas single. It's also radio friendly, and is wide open to a radio edit, which would make it slightly more interesting for us! Johnny Walker played it on Radio 2 yesterday morning, so it's already making the airwaves, and a live version could be made available for the 'B' side. Incidentally, I made an 'edited intro' version of CR for myself, so that wouldn't be a problem either, for a future release. |

I'd go for 'Small', but I think 'We Believe' and 'Cosmos Rockin' would work too. |
Cwazy little thing 23.10.2008 13:03 |
Although I dont think QP's attitude of milking has changed, given the fact they didnt even bother with a video for C-Lebrity, and it didnt sell that well, surely they cant think anyone will pay for another single, especially given the fans have already paid for the tracks when buying the album. You need a cow to milk, and I suspect this one has run away! At least the tour is a success, although I imagine the album hasnt done THAT badly. |
Michael Allred 23.10.2008 19:58 |
I just don't see there being a second single. I think the perception, after the poor sales of the first single (and SINT if you count that) would indicate there isn't a market for it. Factor in the band won't do a video for it and they're on tour leaving them virtually no time to promote it, why put out a flop? Having said that, IF they did put out another one, some of the suggestions here are somewhat confusing. "Call Me"? Really? I don't see how that would succeed unless you targeted it towards a country music audience and follow the trends currently being plowed by Bon Jovi. "Surf's Up...."? Arguably the worst track on the album. "Cosmos Rockin"? C'mon, let's be realistic here. As fun as it is, it's too much of a 50s throwback to appeal to the youth market and the less said of putting out a live version the better. Have we not learned our lessons from releasing live singles from years past? While I don't care much for "We Believe," I do see how it could do some business around Christmas as a segment of the population love cheese and cornballs during the holidays. |

If at all there is going to be another single, I think a remix of "We Believe" with Brian singing the first verse, as he did on the early 2008 gigs would be a good choice. Not that I think that Paul's voice or the album mix is bad, just that as a collector it would be good to get a different version. me thinks!!!! |
Mr. Bed Guy 21.01.2009 13:54 |
I guess there won't be another single release. C-lebrity was released 4 months ago, normally time between two releases isn't more than 2 or 3 months. Today singles are'nt good business for record companys anymore; SINT & C-lebrity failed to the charts . At Wikipedia.org We Believe is mentioned as an Italian release (Single Edit), but it isn't available anywhere. Even I-tunes Italy doesn't provide the song (I mean a special single version) for sale. Maybe a few CDR's were sent to Italian radio stations but didn't get airplay, so EMI decided not to release We Believe or other songs as a single !!?????????? |

Shame they didn't come up with something that actually sounds like Queen. |
