oooo. Thank you for this. I noticed my Best Buy has quite a few vinyl copies of Metallica's new one still lying around. This vinyl thing is not going to last too long at this rate... |
inu-liger 21.10.2008 22:11 |
That's not a bad deal at all! o.O May have to get my friend in New York to get this set for me... Btw. why are they starting the catalogue vinyl reissues with 'Queen II'? That's very strange. |
Saint Jiub 21.10.2008 22:41 |
Yawn ... Why flood the market with archive material when the same shit can be sold to stepfords over and over again? |

Vinyl kicks butt. I have everything availible by Queen on vinyl. Don't need the other stuff but if that the way I have to get the new one then so be it. I acutally just bought 4 boxes of lps at an auction last week. I have nearly 600 lps. [/img] |

Adam Baboolal wrote: Wow, would they ship to the UK?? I've been dying to get the new vinyl's that are coming out. Adam. Hi dear Adam, I was asking myself the same question, but found the answer : "You may ship an order to these countries: U.S., the Virgin Islands, Guam, or an FPO or APO address. We are not able to ship internationally to other countries. Both the shipping and billing address must be an address in the U.S., the Virgin Islands, Guam, or an APO/FPO address (Military). Please be sure to provide a street address (do not use a P.O. box)." So, no luck for us, they don't ship overseas... Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |
Adam Baboolal 22.10.2008 10:31 |
Damn! Well...does this mean that the UK won't get a similar package? I may have to setup one of those US post box things. Might cost a bit, though... EDIT: Woops, just saw you have to have billing address in the US as well. hmm... Adam. |

Has anybody gotten this? I'm headed over to Best Buy after work today to see if it's in. I'm buying two, if it is indeed going to be $79.99. Seems like a pretty good bargain. Wait six months and hope to double my money on ebay. I might even put a newbie style posting in the Collections forum and then bust my own balls in a response about shameless plugs. Anyways, if you have this and want to brag, I'm listening... |

I picked it up last night at my local Best Buy. They had about 4 copies... Anyway..its a nice set. The only problem is that the TCR LP sleeve seems a little messed up. The openings dont seem to stay closed nicely. Other than that its packaged well. I'll have pictures up on my site sometime tomorrow... |
Micrówave 29.10.2008 13:52 |
Thanks Dave. I intend to keep my album sealed, so that's not an issue. I think I am gonna have to bust open one of those early albums, though, just to hear how good it sounds. I'm afraid if I play TCR vinyl, I'll grow too fond of it and prefer the LP, as I do with II, ANATO, and ADATR. Hopefully they don't end up with 23 copies on LP, as the Best Buy near me has with Metallica LPs. I should've waited on that one. $24.99 pfft! |
Erin 29.10.2008 13:53 |
UPS is bringin' mine tomorrow. I still think this sounds like a weird box set, but it was cheaper than buying all the stuff individually. |

From NME (interesting parts in bold): Queen have announced that they will re-release all of their studio albums on vinyl over the next two years. The album packaging will feature original album details as well as bonus posters and pictures. This will be the first time all of Queen's albums will be available on vinyl. The Hollywood Records re-releases will span the band's career, from their 1973 debut self-titled album with singer Freddie Mercury to 2008's 'Cosmos Rocks', featuring Paul Rodgers on vocals. Hollywood Records will release a new "wave" of records every six months. “The First Wave” consists of 'A Night At The Opera', 'A Day At the Races', 'Sheer Heart Attack', 'Queen' and 'The Cosmos Rocks'. “The Second Wave” will be available in spring 2009 and includes an edition of the rare gold-foil stamped 'Queen' album, 'Flash Gordon', 'News Of The World', 'A Kind of Magic' and 'Innuendo'. |

Well, I couldn't wait and decided to go get the set now. I went to two Best Buys. SOLD OUT!!! I did manage to secure two at the Plano store, so I'll be back at plan and get them tonight. This is pretty cool that is selling... 5 at one, 3 at the other. I went ahead and bought the CD and the CD/DVD, even though I'm getting it later. NOTE: This sale price of $79.99 ends November 1... then add $40 back to any remaining copies on hand. Both stores claim they are not getting any more copies in. It's too early for me to put my thoughts to the CD contents after half a listen, but right now I'm thinking keep the band name or change it to McLovin. Because I'm McLovin' me some Cosmos Rocks. |
Micrówave 29.10.2008 15:52 |
Ah crap, Pieter... I knew there was a catch!!! What is it with everything being released in fours with this damn band!!! Still looking for Rocks volume 4. Innuendo on LP? You don't say? That's the ONE I'm missing... great! Something tells me this isn't going to be 79.99. |
PieterMC 29.10.2008 15:56 |
The order that they are being released in makes no sense to me. Neither does the fact that 4 of these LPs are now part of a QPR boxset. Whatever though. At least they are getting released. |
TruePar 29.10.2008 16:09 |
Anyone know if the vinyl will be available in Canada? I checked Best Buy here in Canada and they only had the CD version of TCR. No CD/DVD combo or vinyl... oh well. |

Hey guys, go check this site out: acousticsounds.com You can buy the new vinyl individually, and I'm sure they ship overseas. |

WOW!!! I am one happy camper. I opened one of my box sets upon purchase last night and probably sat there with it for 20 minutes in awe. Absolutely stunning. For collectors, the albums are not individually sealed. I'm keeping my other box sealed. If you're wondering, these re-issues are VERY true to the original. Right down to the non-gloss paper on the NATO cover. The SHA includes the lyric foldout, although it is on a glossier paper as opposed to the original issue. The sleeves are identical! Down to the color, inside gate-fold, everything. Absolutely brilliant. The records are a bit heavier, which tells me they may be of higher quality. The sound? Outworldly. You will notice a difference right away, nice bright crisp sound!! Any fan needs to hear TCR on vinyl at least once. "Some Things That Glitter" made me tingle. The album is 2 records with means an additional large picture that you don't get in the CD. It's ok, it appears they've just photoshopped the band into different scenes. Roger is recycled the most, Brian at least changed the position of his hands but kept the same pose. The CD is the CD/DVD combo, but I was a bit disappointed in the DVD. I thought they could have edited this 'highlights' disk better, but since I have the Super Live DVD already, it doesn't really matter. The CD/DVD booklet is identical to the one issued with just the CD. Finally, the box is nice and sturdy. It's gonna last for a long time. But it makes me want a limited edition box for EACH album now. |

Thanks. Is there an additional number on that box that starts off with something like 50087...? Does the cd have D0002.../ 50087... numbers too? Thanks again! |

Walter B. wrote: Thanks. Is there an additional number on that box that starts off with something like 50087...? Does the cd have D0002.../ 50087... numbers too? Thanks again! Yeah, they are on the barcode - 050087130725 on the vinyl. The CD is D000261700 w/ this barcode - 050087128739. |

Thanks Erin! More numbers to add to my lists... |

I bought mine just in time. They made me wait over a minute so I got another $10 off, so mine was only $69.99, you can't beat that, it's like 1/2 price. I listened to the vinyl, and I was unimpressed. I was even less impressed with the quality of the ANATO cover, it is made out of very cheap paper, not the glossy cardboard like in the old days. Also I was hoping that Queen II would have the USA cover and not the UK version (with the golden glow surrounding the four heads). Yet, I am very happy with the Sheer Heart Attack lyrics included like it was in the first vinyl pressing. I'm glad I bought it, but ven happier now that it went up to $120. |
