Just discovered in my research of New Zealand chart positions for Queen that in fact, Crazy Little Thing Called Love was not a no. 1 single as stated in the liner notes. It only made no. 2!

Crazy did get to number one in NZ tho, didn't it?
That's what junketer is claiming is not the case though. He's saying, by means of researching the singles charts from that time, that CLTCL peaked at no. 2, not no. 1.
Interesting find though, if that's accurate. How did you (junky) come about that?
My research of the NZ charts so far comes from 2 sources, one of which is derived from the other.
I have contacted RIANZ (Recording Industry Association of New Zealand) who are responsible for the music charts in NZ & was kindly emailed back a summary of all Queen singles/albums/DVDs chart information. I also sourced a local book that gives a complete in-depth summary of all artists to have ever charted in NZ. The information in this book however is derived from RIANZ.The summary info. gives: date first charted/peak chart position/no. weeks in peak position/total no. of weeks in chart/silver, gold, platinum status/record label/catalogue no.
I am yet to obtain actual copies of the weekly charts as there is a cost involved & hundreds of weeks of charts. However, I will attempt to get the weeks for CLTCL now that I know the date it first charted.
Just for the record (for CLTCL):Date first charted: 80-01-18Peak position: 2No. weeks at peak: 3No. weeks in chart: 18Sales status: Gold (10,000 copies)
