nothing too serious not sure what it is but he should be back for thursday, hey should have given JD a call, poor old Neil had 4 hours to rehearse on the bus of all things with spike and jamie
Well, Neil Murray is really a good musician, while John probably never touched a bass again since the start of the new century, maybe only few exceptions ! Bad luck, it would have been THE recording to have !
I think those who will see Neil on bass will have a good time, if he can learn all that needs to be learned rapidly. Hope Danny will recover soon anyway !
Thanks for this information !!
Ps : I love your website. Hey you all, check it out !

do you think they will change the solo with roger? hmm any news from the show?
I was at this show. Brilliant show - much better than 2005. Really tight. Thought the whole show was more slicker, professional with a better light show than last time. Also loved the video backdrop. Jamie did the bass solo with Roger. Loved Spikes Roland accordion as well on 39.. Brian's guitar was replaced during one number. Never seen Brian smiling so much. Band really enjoying themselves. Paul's mic stand almost hit Brian near the end. Roger has aged more than Brian but really enjoyed the drum kit increasing in size on the B stage. I was stage left so had a great view of Brian and Paul was busy on that side as well. First 20 - 30 minutes was brill - Hammer To Fall. Tie Your Mother Down, Fat Bottomed Girls, I Want It All, Another One Bites The Dust and Break Free. Really loud at times - but then I was standing underneath the 30 speakers !!
The first thing I noticed was neil Murray on bass!!!. Was wondering about Danny. Brian said that up until 12 o'clock they didn't have a bass player!!. Neil Murray was simply brilliant. Probably knew the majority of songs from the Brian May band but full credit must be given to him for stepping in at the last minute. With all due respect to Danny, Neil is a better bass player in my opinion. Danny has competiotion as they say.
Overall, a great gig with Paul much more relaxed than 2005. His piano during Bad Company was great. Black grand - really cool.
We Believe dropped for Feel Like Makin' Love but otherwise same set as London.
Really glad I went now. Enjoyed this show much more than 2005. Wasn't disappointed at all.
Good on Neil to be available on such short prompt notice! That takes a lot to literally practice (and learn in some cases) all the songs in such a short time frame! I did something similar for a band ('Triton') who we played with back in May, but they were drunk as heck (as I later found out), so it was honestly REALLY crap, *but* everybody in the audience loved it, especially me filling in for their drummer who bitched out on them and didn't even show! (it was all Poison covers, and I tried my best to learn the songs, but with them not being up to par, it failed miserably.....though I did rather well on 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn', but they were really horrible at that point! :-P )
Sorry to hear about Danny's being ill :-(
I hope he makes a quick recovery

Oh... Does anyone know what happened to Danny? I hope it is nothing serious.
No need to worry! He'll be back but Neil Murray was simply great at this show! God knows wht he didn't get the nod in the first place!
Apparently it was because he can't sing, and they were looking for a bassist who could.
Didn't know that but in view of the fact that they have Paul, Brian, Roger, Spike and Jaime does is really matter! John Deacon said he couldn't sing but was a member since 1971. Makes you wonder doesn't it!

As Danny played in the Las Vegas production of We Will Rock You maybe he should attempt a West End version and Let Neil Murray take the reins!!!.
