[p]I've had this album (in various formats) for 23 years...it's a classic of its genre (imo)...
[p]i remember hearing the single "die young" and thinking how closely Ronnie's voice sounded to Freddie's....and the more i got into the album the more i liked it - perhaps it was the early queen/queen II sound and feel?
[p]anyhow, i suppose the conclusion i am drawing is that perhaps this is the album QUEEN never made but should've? it's whole sound and structure cries out for Brian's Guitar and Fred's voice....
[p]...opinions?

i also love heaven and hell album (i like all their albums from 70's and 80's) but it never sounded like queen to me. son and daughter is only queen song that reminds me of black sabbath, that riff is very sabbath like[br]
Great album but I can't imagine Fred singing thse lyrics at that stage of his career. Also Tony Iommi's guitar sound and style is a major factor in what makes the album special. Brian doesn't play like that.
Actually Son and Daughter reminds me of Zeppelin rather than Black Sabbath...but listening to Heaven and Hell, I always thought it sounded like something familiar, some other band, but definitely not Queen.
RJD is terrific, he is right up there with Fred when it comes to my favourite vocalists. I would love to hear him on Queen 2, it conjures up all that Tolkinesque imagery that Dio is so good at!
