Queenonline.com have announced the tracklist of the Singles Box Set today.[br][br]The box might even be more boring than expected.....[br][br]No special versions/single edits (Liar, It's Late), only the album versions of the original releases (no Liar and no It's Late, because no Top 40 hits...)[br][br]I've already pre-ordered it, but € 37,99 only for a few nice covers???? [br]I'm thinking about cancelling my order....[br][br] |

Cancel it souds like a waste of money. The only way we can convince QP to release the odd, rare and unreleased things that are worthwhile is all to boycot the releases they are trying to shove up our throat these last years. As long as we all buy this kind of collectors'itemsthey are finding new ways to sell more of the same over and over again |

Yes boys and girls this is the special release Greg mentioned earlier this year, and ofcourse they changed it from 1 box to 4 seperate ones.[br][br]I am so happy no i can buy all the songs again which I have on both LPs and CDs. And ofcourse the 7 inch singles.[br][br]Thank you very much QP, I have been waiting for this such a long time.[br] |
dave76 09.10.2008 17:47 |
Please QP, take note at what Genesis did last year. They released 2 nice boxsets with all the album, dvd's and a lot of nice extra's. Those asses over at QP could learn something from that.[br] |

Another slap in the face of all Queen fans...Way to go Mr May! |
Winter Land Man 09.10.2008 20:21 |
They should just re-release every single one at a time, in vinyl. Just like when Queen first did it. I'd certainly buy that. And maybe contain a remix of the song. If they don't soon, I'm just going to have to have it done myself.[br] |

Can't wait :-)[br][br][br] |

Now, I'm starting to think, that I will not buy it.Why? All these years I collected demos and rare versions from the hub (mp3 or Flac), and I was hoping, they will release (someday) all this stuff with nice box (like FM Box, which is very nice IMO) and I will spend some money on it to be more "legal". Now, I see, that there is no point to buy it. And one more thing - I hope they will not release it with BIG STAR on the front cover, because: the cosmos - "rocks" (bleee). |

13 cds with just 28 tracks?, nothing new.....is better to try to obtain the original vinyls on ebay. |
Voice of Reason 2018 10.10.2008 09:25 |
I don't know why you expected Liar and It's Late etc. I realised weeks ago these wouldn't be included. [br][br]Oh, and it's 'Dr. May' now btw![br] |

It's interesting to note that Brian says on his site that the singles box sets are also going to be released as vinyl editions as well as the CDs. |
podders 11.10.2008 15:18 |
Looking at Brians soapbox today, they seem to be planning to release the set on vinyl as well....... think I would prefer the vinyl! |
podders 11.10.2008 15:19 |
sorry cmsdrums...you said it before me! Just repeated exactly what you said! What do you reckon...CD or vinyl?? |
cmsdrums 14.10.2008 13:22 |
I'd possibly be tempted by the vinyl edition from a collecting point of view, but the CD would be best just from an ease of listening point of view, being able to put on the ipod etc... I have all the original (all UK and some overseas) 7" releases though, and have most of the 'rare' tracks on those or on CD where possible already, so I am not sure that I am gonna buy either. interesting that the vinyl version is not advertised yet - seems like the usual ploy of getting 'us' to buy the CD version ,and then a few months down the line QP will say 'look at this lovely 7" vinyl version' and certainly a rw fans will buy the lot again in that format. |
P-Staker 14.10.2008 17:24 |
Since we already have the songs, they should just ship the empty cases. |

I picture some total idiot has some unbreakable tie with Queen, a guy who is literally retarted and is given some chief position with Queen's productions because of an unending sympathy they all feel for him. A guy/girl who made it through the cracks because of some unusual hold on their high job with Queen Productions that has gone on since I was a baby over 30 years ago. His/her first move was the Queen's First E.P. release. Later was the decision to release Body Language as a single. Still long after that was the Queen Rocks cd release. Now they are doing the Singles Box Set. I cannot believe that any member of Queen on any day at any time would be so daft, goofy, completely ridiculous to conjure up these releases of new Queen products that introduce NOTHING in an all new way, giving that familiar nostalgia so well through the act of releasing the exact same thing, unless it's Queen Rocks in which case it's more an act of selling you something new mixed in a lot of old at the price of what you want plus the bonus gift of a whole bunch of stuff you already have for only the price of paying for it a 2nd time. And if you act now, we'll send you a bonus gift of the same thing for not a single penny more than you would normally pay for it, and you'll know it's the truth because you already paid for it before. Yeah I found a new low in stupidity when the "SINGLES" set included only the singles we already have 3 or more copies of, and not the singles we'd be interested in if we didn't already have them on album as well. No It's Late, that has too original a ring to it, like it's almost pretending to be something different even though it isn't. Let's make absolutely sure that the fans KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT that they aren't getting anything new or worth paying for. And I especially love the included "Keep Yourself Alive" non top 40 hit because it's the first single. It represents a nostalgic appreciation the production company does not have, giving an even dearer fakeness and disgust to so loathed a product. I'd sooner donate 3 times the cost of this "Singles" set to the Queen fan club as an act of charity before I'd betray my principles and buy a product that screams out it's insincere purpose in exchanging quality goods for my money. They are speaking loud and clear to us, "We aren't going to deliver yet on the box sets Greg Brooks was supposedly compiling back during the Clinton administration's 1st term, but we will offer you 6th or so release of the common Queen tracks off their albums, the Greatest Hits discs, the Queen Rocks disc, the Stone Cold Hits disc, the Platinum Collection, or whatever else they might be shared on, only this time we offer you something new. This time you get to receive them in individual sets of two, that way you can get up and change the songs every 5 minutes by putting in a different CD in it's place. Who needs the convieniantly longer play discs that last an hour between changes. Get some time to mess with your cd player rather than relax, and this service comes at a not so small charge. I swear that it wouldn't surprise me ONE bit if they follow this up with a 4th release of the Montreal concert I own 3 compies of. |

This is my point as long as everybody still buy re-re-rereleases why should anybody at QP think about release something new. Apparently the cash-cow is not dry |
