odd question I know - but I've read and seen interviews of Brian & Roger after Freddie's death - and years afterward on documentaries and such and while they're very respectful and kind (and British) and express admiration, they don't seem emotionally engaged. I get more actual emotion reading Brian's remarks re: Cozy than re: Freddie - what's up? Is it that they were friends and business partners but not that close emotionally - or were they mates but don't/won't open up because of the depth of feeling and feeling that it should be private and not for the public?
I think only Brian and Roger can answer questions about the emotional impact Freddies death had on them just as only we as individuals can answer how a death of someone close to us effects us. Brian and Cozy were very good mates. Was he closer to Cozy than to Freddie? I don't know, you'd need to ask him but I doubt he'd appreciate the question.
Don't forget they had quite a long time to get used to the idea of Freddie dying before he actually did so a lot of emotion and even grief was possibly expressed even prior to Freddies death.
This is not a very cheery subject anyway and I don't like to speculate on other peoples emotions with regards to the death of their friends just as I'd prefare others not to seculate about my own.
They were extremely close, you only have to read some of the things they both said in later years, however, neither of them ever like discussing the private side of their lives, Freddie was simply too close to discuss in public. Well done them I say.

[br][br]Thanks for the information - good to know. I hope I didn't give offense by my question - I actually don't know anything about the band's personal dynamics. I'm a little out of touch with all things Queen. [br][br]About 3 weeks ago I caught a reference to Freddie's birthday in a blog I occasionally read and thought "Oh, Queen - I used to like them (in the hey-day of FM album radio in the U.S). I wonder if there's anything on youtube for them?" - and there you go. [br][br]Before this, the last time I listened to a Queen album straight through was probably when ADATR was released on vinyl, when I was a college freshman. All I can say is - wow - their music sure holds up. I remember, of course, when Freddie died, but I also lost someone I worked closely with to AIDS about the same time - so compounding memories make them all a little more poignant. [br][br]As I said, I'm happy to know that what I've seen is Brian and Roger being discrete, reserved good friends rather than what you sometimes hear in other situations (i.e. where the person abides by don't speak ill but you know there is no love lost either). [br][br]If you have links to the later articles or interviews that you spoke of, I'd be interested to read them, now that I know of them. [br][br]Thanks again[br][br][br][br][br]
