What Queen songs do you all think sound like other bands?
What about other bands' songs that sound like Queen?
I can think of many Queen songs that sound like Led Zeppelin or AC/DC like "Sweet Lady", "Innuendo", "Tie Your Mother Down" or "Now I'm Here"...
And for the second question, I think Led Zeppelin's "Your Time Is Gonna Comes" is very reminiscent of Queen, maybe because of the harmony vocals.
What do you guys think?
There was a song on the Fifa 2000 soundtrack called Joy by Gay Dad - the song itself doesnt really have anything too "Queen" about it, but I remember hearing it for the first time, and the lead singer has a slight tinge of Freddie about his voice in the verse, but then I swear the chorus about a minute in (up until the last bit where someone shouts "JOY") almost had me convinced it was Freddie, or a sample of Freddie on the chorus, for a couple of listens - go and listen and let me know what you think!
it must be something about the way the backing vocals and main vocals merge - it just has a Freddie quality and manner of pronouncing words when singing for a second.
Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll is a very untypical Queen song. No one I've played it to recognized it as Queen.
If Q+PR counts, Cosmos Rockin' has a hint of Chuck Berry's Rock 'n' Roll Music and the beginning of Time to Shine is similar to Robbie Williams' Let Me Entertain You.
Going other direction, Things We Do For Love by 10cc is a very Queen song. Well, most 10cc songs are. I wonder why more Queen fans don't listen to 10cc...
I once heard a longer version (probably from the soundtrack album), with additional guitar parts that would make Dr. May proud; I hope our friend inu-liger, with his deeper knowledge of Japanese, can find it for us...
I think Freddie could've sung "Holy Diver" pretty well, around the time he did "Gimme the Prize".
On the other side of the coin, Dio would've done a good "I Want It All".

I have 10 cc the very best of in my collection somewhere. 70's rock child I guess. Some really good stuff on that cassette - Good Morning Judge, Rubber Bulletts, I'm Not In Love to name 3. Also Godley & Cremes video for 2 Tribes is brilliant! A great indication of what mindless, selfish arseholes politicians are!!
The song "Sheer Heart Attack" was a depature for Queen as it was out an out punk. Suprisingly so was "Crazy Little Thing" a depature at the time as was most of the Hot Space album, you got a love a band that can reinvent themselves like that and still win.
