MrFunster 02.10.2008 16:12 |
and did they start with Runaway? |
Raf 02.10.2008 16:25 |
Wow, it must've been one of the best moments of the entire tour so far! |
Wiley 02.10.2008 16:26 |
Great! That has to be one of my favorite tracks off the album. I know it's a bit cheesy, preachy and 'soapboxy' but I like the music a lot. One of my favorite Brian solos in the album, along with C-Lebrity and -maybe- the intro of Through the Night. Hey, Thorsten! Which shows are you attending? |
MrFunster 02.10.2008 16:46 |
Who's got the whole setlist..... |
MrFunster 02.10.2008 16:49 |

hey wiley! i've seen berlin, rome, milano and zurich so far. the italian shows were amazing. i am disappointed that they didn't play more of the new stuff. i am a bit bored by the old farts. it was great to meet all the usual suspects and some new/old fans in front of the halls and in the first rows. i will go to prague at the end of october and thats it. |

Wiley wrote: ... One of my favorite Brian solos in the album ... totally agree, this is my fave solo, also with all the guitar work in Some Things that Glitter. But, returning to the main subject of the thread, I have only one thing to say: YIHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!! Hope We Believe has been included in the set to stay from now on !! and REALLY hope this is the beggining of more of the new songs' inclusion to the set. I'd love to see a much worked Warboys; I'd love to see Time To Shine, wich sounded ok in spite of the initial mistake; I wanna see Small, Call Me .. even Through The Night, wich is growing on me day by day, and could provide a good result if played live. Let's cross fingers ... :) |
-adventure seeker- 02.10.2008 16:59 |
yet again one of pauls songs has sufferd? |
Wiley 02.10.2008 17:10 |
Replace GaGa, Break Free and Another one bites the dust with Shooting Star, Time to Shine and Under Pressure; alternate AKOM with Dragon Attack or Warboys every now and then, and there's a perfect setlist for me (considering the songs previously played). I only want them to keep AKOM if Roger performs it at the B-stage. That has to be too damn cool! I have to see it. Oh! and also they could either alternate One Vision with SU...SO as opener or ADD it and move SU...SO to another part of the set. Much better setlist than 2005 and just a bit better than 2006 (Under Pressure, Dragon Attack are missed). I hope they never play TADTOOL again, by the way. Boring sentimentalist crap... sorry, it worked in the nostalgia fest 2005 but please, NOT anymore. |
Knute 03.10.2008 00:36 |
Sweet! I love We Believe. Should be in epic condition by the time they get to the UK...that is if they don't drop it after one airing like several other TCR tunes. I predict that Through the Night will be the next TCR breakout. |
jeffuk49 03.10.2008 02:32 |
I Believe that................ still burning should be on the uk leg its a decent rocker |
Martin Packer 03.10.2008 03:48 |
Hope it stays in - at least until Nottingham. :-) And the suggestion that Still Burnin' be added is good. The WWRY Handclaps bit would be fun to do. |
JeroenG 03.10.2008 08:15 |
It seems to me that from TCR... In the set from the beginning were: - C-lebrity - Say it's not true Cosmos rockin' Added later and stays: Surf's up... school's out! Added only one time and dropped after that: - Warboys - Time to shine - We believe So my guess is that they definately wanted to play C-L, SINT & CR, they had SU...SO in mind for the opener from the beginning but maybe didn't manage to play it right yet... and the other songs are tried one time and dropped immediately. Minus: Every song is a one-shot, for both audience and the band Plus: Probably most songs from the new album will be played at some point Anyway, how boring part of the setlist may be, it is still a setlist with room for surprises, as you never know when and which new track will be played. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 03.10.2008 08:25 |
Could they possibly be planning a "The Cosmos Rocks Live" release, with the songs from the album? Cheers, Ogre- |
masterstroke_84 03.10.2008 08:44 |
you can expect something like that from people like David Gilmour (his last 2 live dvds features the COMPLETE studio album played live and later a classic Floyd set) or U2 for example... but never from Queen+PR Why? because they dont rehearse enough to pull out ALL the tracks perfect... they use the first 4 or 5 dates to do that. How many rehearsals weeks they've done this time? 2? even if thet play all day is not enough for a 2 n half hours show and to pulish 30 songs. They always been very lazy. |

Gilmore plays the whole album live on tour and only does a few older songs to keep the crowd happy. Queen rehearse for a back catologue tour of the hits plus a few newbies. |
masterstroke_84 03.10.2008 11:00 |
... and what did I say? |
TheGame 03.10.2008 14:57 |
That is SO great, love that song! Just hope they wont drop it too fast! |

Now we can die...... |
Wiley 03.10.2008 19:11 |
Great! I love that clip. I wish we had the whole song on video (or audio, at least). Good idea with Brian singing that verse. Does anybody know if Roger sang as well? Any other memorable aspect of this particular performance? I hope we can get every single new album song as official downloads by the end of the tour (or before). I could gladly replace my TCR CD from my car stereo with a CD with good quality live versions of the songs! :) |
Fenderek 03.10.2008 19:52 |
I honestly think this tops THE CALL now as the WORST thing ever from Queen... complete and utter crap... I really hope they are going to drop this and come back to WARBOYS or play sth like THROUGH THE NIGHT...I don't think I have ever heard such boring song from people with so much talent... |
Wiley 03.10.2008 19:58 |
Yes, I think it is very preachy or "soapboxy". Yes, it is formulaic and I understand someone thinking it is boring. Having said that, I like it a lot. You want boring? Try "is this the world we created?". |
hillerqueen 03.10.2008 20:38 |
We Believe is a class song hope its next single and gets heaps of air play |
princetom 04.10.2008 02:38 |
i usually skip this song on the record... maybe it's too straight, maybe because paul's voice doesn't fit, maybe because it needs more piano action (and i mean piano, no goofy samples :-D) or maybe because it needs a john deacon so much... nevertheless... a full live-version would be much appreciated. nice call to hand bri the vocals... hope, anybody will share at least an audio-version (perhaps after Hannover, tonight ? :-D) |
Martin Packer 04.10.2008 03:36 |
I'm hoping that for Cosmos Rockin' they do the "what planet is this today?" thing and we can all shout "Nottingham!" or wherever. :-) |
FatBumGirl 04.10.2008 04:20 |
I cant stand 'I Believe' Its bloody awful. Please dont do it!! |

Because (lyrics aside) The Call is the most ambitious, most Queen-like thing that BM & RT have done since Made in Heaven. |

holly2003- I have no problem with political songs WHEN THEY ARE NOT OBVIOUS. Lyrics to WE BEIEVE and THE CALL make me cringe- but I don't mind people like Bob Dylan or Neil Young taking a stand. Even Brian was able in 70-s to write about sth important in an ambitious way- White Man or Prophet's Song spring to mind... But those two- THe Call and We Believe- are among the most naive lyrics I have EVER heard in my life... And when they come from someone as talented as Brian- I can only think "OMG, WHY???" |

Great song! But one of Brian's worst vocal perfomances ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please let Paul sing the whole song.......... Said by a big Brian May fan........ |
Martin Packer 04.10.2008 15:12 |
"Naive" is an interesting term. I rather naively could echo all those sentiments. I think I'd add my voice to the "we" in it. I actually like the "that's what we believe" towards the end which sounds to me like "we know people will call us naive in saying these are the things we believe but we believe them anyway and sod anyone who call us naive". At least that's how I interpret the words towards the end. A degree of defience in naivete. But then clearly I LOVE the song. :-) |
doc_ts 04.10.2008 17:54 |
For those who want die happily - We believe - I've just uploaded the full video from Mannheim. Cheers. |
queenliveforever! 34422 04.10.2008 19:15 |
Someone needs to take the mic from brian and give it to paul to sing the whole song like its suppose to be. brian's part was terrible but paul's was excellent. Out of all the songs on the album, this song is perfect for paul. WHY give it to brian to sing???. The more times i have listened to this song the better it gets, it builds momentum as the song keeps goin along. If they could just get rid of: AKOM, IILWMC, Last horizon, and make sure Hammer to fall stays out of the set, we can have new songs like this. And bring back Wishing well and Feel like makin love(this was one of the highlights from the last tour IMO) |
Martin Packer 05.10.2008 06:06 |
Thanks doc_ts for the video. I think it's right that Brian sings the first verse... It's his song and it's harder for him to introduce it without singing the first verse. It's impossible to tell from the video, though, how well or badly he does it. I notice the first "some of us believe" is missing. Maybe that doesn't go with the hand waving. I also liked whatever he was starting to play at the end of the clip. The traditional guitar solo perhaps? |
