Just a general question: Be gentle...
Does anyone know for CERTAIN that Freddie wanted his remaining band members to continue and under the same moniker?
Who that ? Freddie Mercury ? Who is it ?
Just joking. Sure he wanted !
Can you imagine him saying to Brian something like : "no guys, when i am all dead and gone you won't earn money again and you'll be sleeping on the sidewalk. You can pray and claim all the palabras de amor if you wish, you little dancer, you maybe were my dear friends but I prefer fat bottomed girls. Let me tell you something, from father to son. You were good company but it's time for the hammer to fall. It's too late. Keep yourself alive but don't sing my songs anymore. I know, leaving home ain't easy, but... The show must go on you say ? Well, you probably live in a dreamer's ball. Some day, one day, you've been a very sweet lady, but it was long away. '39 you say ? probably. Go and dress like a white queen, that's all you can do. The night comes down now, so let me alone, you prat with your long hair. Fuck off."
Well, just with these few sentences he would have been immediately sued by Brian for copyright issues and he would have lost all his fortune !

What kind of proof do you require?
Jim Beach was his estate's executor, Brian & Roger were two of his best friends. It's a bit circumstantial but I can't see them going against his wishes.
Clearly you can...
Apparently you don't know either and are just assuming. Interesting how it took them 19 years to get something going again.
Your right..I don't agree with it and from the mouth of Tony Soprano "Whad'ya you gonna do about it?"

Indeed, we can't really know for sure, but I'm happy they did something for the Queen name still lives on. I waited so many years to hear something really new, and now I'm pleased they did, no matter how it sounds like. So many old bands do that nowadays, it would have been sad to have the name forgotten because years passed on. 17 years after Innuendo, and 13 years after Made In Heaven. They had the time to question themselves !

It would have been absurd for Freddie Mercury to have denied Brian, Roger, and John the option of carrying themselves under the Queen name. To me, that's enough proof. I trust that Freddie would accept the way things have turned out -- in fact, he might even be proud of the three of them, despite their seperate ways. As far as we know, the three of them are very content and happy with their lives. That's all he could have asked for.

John Deacon chose not to join Brian and Roger. I think he did this out of respect for Freddie, and also because he realizes it wouldn't be Queen.
IMO, John Deacon is the finest human being of the four.
Freddie = homosexual / irresponsible
Brian = sensitive, has ego
Roger = ?? not sure
John = very modest, and normal. THE WINNER of the four.
[img=link, Thanks for responding....its nice to get others opinions on the subject
I guess maybe I feel differently about all of it, I'm having a difficult time adjusting to the new band, and probably never will, and to me Freddie+John+Brian+Roger=Queen. Lets face it.... only half of them are making music.
I do like the fact that that May and Roger are performing again but I can't say I'm fond of the Paul Rodger sound, and especially with him singing the old "Queen Hits"
He has some pretty big shoes to fill.. and well.. I don't think they fit..lol.
Glad to hear them have a "new" song though(C-lebrity) didn't think that sounded too bad.
Here's a thought for ya's...I wonder what Freddie would of done if he had lost one of his band members?
for example.. if Brian May was killed in a car accident or Roger Taylor died of cancer.....
What would John Lennon think about his bandmates getting his crappy cassete demos and turning them into "new" Beatles songs? (That's the Beatles' MIH for you)
