Freddie Mercury was the engine of Queen... it seems that some people forgot who had the idea for the band name, the band logo and the extravagant shows... Brian and Roger are great musicians but without Freddie they would work as dentist and astrophysicist. John Deacon did a great job and knew when Queen was "dead"...! The show must go on... but not as Queen... Paul Rodgers is a good singer but the image of Queen is damaged now in my point of view... I never would insult Queen+PR Fans... but it's not MY kind of music. |
Treasure Moment 25.09.2008 13:21 |
Totally agree with everything you said. Freddie was and is singlehandedly the best musician/singer and frontman of all time forever. |
Micrówave 25.09.2008 14:40 |
I totally agree with both of you!!!
Freddie came up with the name. I've seen the interview. So I guess you're right.
But the rest of your opinion put me to sleep. Sorry.

Paul Rodgers is a good singer but the image of Queen is damaged now in my point of view.............. i cant beleive that if it is so,why is the ulbum number 5 in the charts, and the tour looks like a sell out.thats not damaged thats ,how can i put it,continuation of a band or group that looks like surviving for a good few years to come.maybe no more albums, but as a tour band im sure things will continue.after all this and maybe the tour before had a lot of younger fans mixing with older ones.no i think they could go on for a good while yet.from a personal point of view ,i have 2 kids 10 and 16 who love queen(drummed in from an early age lol)and i hope in years to come they can say,we saw queen a few times. |

I am so thankful for this collaberation, that I was able to see them live...even just once ( i recorded the drum solo from vancouver 2006 video) and I hope I will be able to see them again and again in the future, and I look forward to more albums from them. |

Without Brian and Roger Freddie would be a fashion designer. |

geldy's right. Brian and roger would have probably quit the band too, if freddie didn't show up, it was freddie's voice mostly who have made them what they are now(made the group popular), not to mention that Brian and Roger both are great artists. |

maybe they should of use Queen but with a twist to it ?...and add + PR. i dont like to compare, but...let me try on this one. Bon scott, in his style was a tough from man to beat. i know... Bon was just starting too be a star and acclamed front man. AC/DC keept the name, but their fame was just srarting. keeping Queen in the name, ok...it's normal. but it would of pass better with a another word with it, like " Queen gardians" ? ( i'm sure some of you has a good add on to Queen) maybe it's silly of me to think this...anyway... Queen was 4 guys who needed each other as a team to make it. as great as Freedie was...he sort of knew/felt he needed to be with Brian & roger. |

Freddie Mercury is the fire and glue of the band...queen wouldnt be a Queen if Freddie didnt insisted to Bri and Rog to continue..till he wrote the seven seas of rye followed by Killer Queen..then the unforgettable Bo Rhap..that brought them to stardom.....if he became fashion designer he will be famous ..he destined to be a star! |

When your first attempt at a serious band disbands, you give up on music career entirely. And that's a FACT. |

Queen or no Queen... tired of reading the posts... would the discussion change anything? It's good to see that Brian and Roger (really BRILLIANT musicians) still go on. I had no chance of hearing Queen music life when Freddie was alive and I'm really grateful to them for giving me this pleasure now... Or should they have calle themselves something like 'Queen-Freddie+Paul Rodgers' to keep everybody satisfied????? |

Or is that a bit too much of a mouthfull? |

Wow.. veeery polite replies here... and very smart ones... If they were touring under any other name, they would not be playing the music of Queen. I'd definitely be glad to hear any of Brian's and Roger's stuff as well... but Queen is Queen. What I really loathe about the whole situation is that people are saying one and the same thing again and again. Brian and Roger are great musicians... I enjoyed the shows I saw and I'm positive about the album. And I do not think that means betraying the memory of Freddie. |
