Hey, can you guys recommend some metal albums to me? I've got a big holiday and I don't really think I'll be listening to Queen all this time, so can someone recommend some good metal albums?
I already have Death Metallic by Metallica(and I have all their previous albums except St. Anger). Is Nostradamus(Judas Priest) good? What albums would be good for a big fan of Blind Guardian, Queenryche, Judas Priest, Dio and Iron Maiden? And no, please no Manowar, they're too cheesy for me.
If you want something really heavy and good ill suggest
Sepultura- arise
sepultura-chaos ad
sepultura- beneath the remains
thats level 2 for brutal music, level 3 is death metal but maybe you arent used to that.
here are some songs you might like
sepultura- inner self: one of THE BEST Metal songs EVER! link
Sepultura- Arise link
sepultura was for 10 years one of my absolute favourite bands, ironically it was a Queen concert in 1982 that inspired them to start sepultura haha
here is a video from 2 of the sepultura members talking about how Queen inspired them to start the band: link

I'm used to Death Metal, I've lived in Sweden for 4 years, where Death Metal is extremely popular. I like In Flames, Opeth, Death, etc.
Yeah, Sepultura rocks, I never heard that song you posted, but it's awesome. Yeah, I knew that the Cavalera brothers were influenced by Queen. Read it in some metal magazine.

I wouldnt consider in flames or opeth as death metal though. Have you heard nile or beneath the massacre? extremely intense death metal bands.
I have two Nile albums, I think. I heard them a long time ago and I liked them. I remember a cool song by them named "Sarcophagus". Don't know about the other band you mentioned.

Ok, maiden I can recommend:
The number of the beast
Seventh son of a seventh son
A matter of life and death
If you are into power metal, I really like Gamma ray's Blast from the past
And my second favorite band (after Queen) is Dream Theater, any of their albums has heavy awesome shit, but their heaviest album is called "Train of thought" or their latest one has some serious heavy shit "systematic Chaos"
Other than that, I like Pantera, you can pick their greatest hits, that's some good guitar playing right there, also, their first album "Cowboys from hell" is fucking awesome.
And Black label society, I have their whole catalog, so I recommend you to pick any of those you can find.
If you are into metal prog, go pick out Ayreon's "the human equation" really good.
I also like Damage Plan, they only had one CD, cant remember the name but it is really good.
Derek sherinian's Black utopia Is a great instrumental album, lots heavy track with Yngwie Malmsteen and zakk wylde, pick that out
The singer from Dream Theater as an album called Elements of persuation, thats heavy as hell, you might like that
oh, I almost forget, you got to pick out this album called the Odyssey, by "symphony X" superb playing right there
wow, I listen to a lot of metal.
I already have the Iron Maiden ones, I'll check out the rest. I remember hearing a cover of "Sounds of Silence" by Symphony X and it was awesome. One of my ex-girlfriends was a huge metal freak, she could name like 35-45 obscure black metal and death metal bands in a minute. I mean, she had like thousands of albums on her shelves. And her fascination with black metal was borderline obsessive.

And the concert was in 198-fucking-1, Morumbi Stadium. But I doubt it was (just) that one. From what I heard (personally) it was also the Kiss concert in 1983, Paulo Xisto is a big Kiss fan. Or was I think, until he met Gene and Paul in person once and they were colder than ice with him.
