I just want to say that for me, the top british album sould be Queen's Greatest hits!while their best album should be Innuendo! I know everybody considers "A night at the Opera" the top album of Queen but I really disagree...it is just a part of their production, strongly influenced by the 70s sounds and fashion, while Innuendo is a perfect, incredible and amazing sum up of their music: glam, hard rock, pop rock, classic influence, orchestral composition as well as a powerful concept in the lyrics!there's everything on Innuendo! While a Night at the Opera is doubtless an album from the 70s, Innuendo is really an immortal one...Can we really say it is an album from the 90s or from the 80s?we do because we know, but if we didn't, it would be really hard to tell it is a 1991 record!it is timeless! But most fans and of course the critics don't take even in consideration this great masterpiece in music history!

first of all - you can't include Greatest Hits compilations in these top 100 type readers voting things...otherwise the top 95 would all be BEST OFs
secondly, i disagree. i have NEVER had Opera as my top queen album - mine is always Queen II, closely followed by their first album, then Races
I can't get interested in a poll that gives me the only realistic choice of A Night at the Opera when the obscure Queen II is my all-time favorite album, News of the World an extremely close number 2.
