Hi people,
unfortunatelly this time I won't post here Queen concerts this time, simply because there were no Queen concerts in 1983 :-)
After the huge "success" of Hot Space the band decided that they need a rest and they spent the time with their solo projects.
Brian May did record Star Fleet with Eddie Van Halen, Phil Chen, Alan Gratzer, Fred Mandel and a small help from Roger.
Roger has recorded his solo album Strange Frontier and Freddie has recorded 3 tracks with Michael Jackson in his home studio at Neverland.
The tracks were State Of Shock (which was later reworked with Mick Jagger), There Must Be More To Life Then This (which was originally written for Hot Space, later re-recorded as the closing track to The Works, and finally released on Freddie's Mr. Bad Guy solo album) and Victory (later reworked by the Jacksons).
Two of the tracks are here : link link
Victory remains unreleased.
The above songs are in mp3 format, if somebody has them lossless and what to share them, please do it :-)

Brian has appeared in BBC's "Guitar Greats" on 3. 4. 1983.
It's a very nice interview, unfortunately the sound is far from perfect, but here you are : link
The interview includes few parts from various Queen songs which were officially released, but I hope it's OK to put the whole thing here since their not complete and in "radio quality".

The next goodie comes also from Dr. May.
It's his solo appereance on 20. November in Duke Of York's Theatre, London. Brian was invited to the Capital Radio to show a couple of his tricks on guitar. He played an old traditional song in a form of medieval music called Pavan and taught a couple of students how to play it. In the end of this short session he also played a very short guitar solo and part of Love Of My Life.
"Satriani" shared the recording of this "minigig" a while ago on mediafire (THANKS A LOT), it should be copied directly from his tape.
These are HIS links

So this is all for 1983, now it's time to finish my upload for 1984 !
Thanks !! 1983 was a year off the routine for Queen, so they made things they couldn't make in the traditional studio-tour-studio-tour-studio they had for oh so long.
So nice to have some proofs they weren't lying on a beautiful beach, staring at the sun, drinking cocktails surrounded by beautiful girls, for one complete year.
But, wait, here's Freddie, and Brian, showing sings of activity, but where were John and Roger ? ;o)
Regards,
Olivier,
Belgium.

John collaborated with Man Friday + Jive Junior. Roger was busy with Strange Frontier. Later in the year Queen recorded The Works. :)
Thanks for sharing that Pittrek. For the last 4 months i've been without much time to download, so i've been missing a lot of goodies.
I think it was in 1983 that Brian, Eddie Van Halen and John Entwistle (The Who bass player), jammed on a pub in America. I remember reading this in a book. Anyone knows anything about this?
Take care

If it had been recorded, maybe this could be part of the Best Of The Best 1983 Serie, and be shared here ? Pittrek, do you have that one ? ;o)
