He doesn't need to die (all right... now, at least! Who wants to live forever anyway?). He could just stop making new albums with the other 2. Yes, the pun was intentional. |

People need to get a life. Saying someone should die. This website is turning into a joke. If you do not like the new cd, do not buy it or talk about it. But when you start wishing death on people, that is crossing the line. |

I think others should join me in reporting this thread to appropriate authorities. There are a lot of people out there who take seemingly silly and vain threats seriously. I am going to forward this thread to Brad Gregory, Paul Rodgers' head of security, so that he may trace your email address and ensure that you are not allowed entrance to any Q+PR event. Brad may opt to persue legal action, as well. |
redspecialusa 21.09.2008 00:40 |
Wow, this should not be tolerated. To make a threat like that in this day and age that we live in is completely absurd. The guy that posted that SHOULD be banned (I THIRD THE MOTION), and should be turned into the proper authorities. Whoever you are, you need to spend the rest of your life in a padded room under psychiatric observation. |

Gee, I'm not that keen on Cosmos Rocks myself, but that's a bit of an extreme response. No matter what you think about their recent musical collaborations, these people are still bona fide rock legends and are included on the Endangered Species List. Now if you'd said for instance, "Kid Rock must die" then nobody here would've batted an eye lid. |

Yara 21.09.2008 11:50 |
It's not offensive. Just stupid, pathetic and pathological. And idiotic. But if the guy enjoys being an idiot, I can't blame him, because it must be damn good to be an idiot otherwise there wouldn't be so many out there in the world. That was precisely my point in another thread. People blame Paul Rodgers for "taking Freddie's place". People think that, in some way, Brian and Roger are morally guilty for going on with the band and "tarnishing its reputation", as if Queen were a kind of sacred principle or deity. It's a band. Only a band. Music, entertainment, that's it. If one thinks TCQ isn't good to Queen's reputation in the sense that it's not musically as good as the previous Queen stuff, ok: any bad album issued by any band would have such an effect. So we'd say in a sane world: "Oh, it was a superb band, but the last album sucks". And then we'd go on talking about other stuff or having a cup of tea instead of trying to make an argument as to way Brian should be burned at stake. "It was such an excellent band, and it's a pity the last album sucks". Great. Wow, is that so...serious? Is it a crime? What's the problem? It's a band! When one begins to blame Roger and Brian for playing as "Queen", then I think things have gone way too far. Never mind Paul. Just take Roger and Brian. One guy of the band died. The other decided to quit. Both worked out their asses to make the band work and devoted all their lives to it - why the hell they just can't go on playing as..."Queen"? I mean, some of these people could at least be able to recognize that Freddie worked with the band up until he died and that they composed a song called: "The Show Must Go On". So, far from Freddie being alive and forbidding the guys to go on with the band, the evidence is the opposite: it seems, for all we know, he didn't want Queen to end. He'd often dispel the rumors about the band coming to an end. When he was interviewed in Brazil in 1985 he made it clear that he was not the leader of the band. He wanted to emphasize that. He was only, as he said, the lead singer. He was as important as the other guys. He didn't die saying: "There's no Queen without me". He wasn't as arrogant and stupid as to say that. If he had said, before he passed away: "No Queen without me". "I am Queen". "The guys are not allowed to go on playing as Queen without me". Ok, I'd just say: NOW IT'S A MORAL QUESTION. But it's not. Freddie really couldn't care less at the end of his life if the guys would go on as Queen or King or Prince - he really had more serious issues to be concerned about. Much more serious than the band. An "issue" which robbed his life. The band is only a band. It's music, it's supposed, as Freddie always intended it to be, entertainment. He was, afterall, a showman, not a moral reference. |
