Bon Jovi, Whitesnake are called Romantic/Happy/Hair Metal/Rock. Not Glam Rock.
Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard are called Glam Metal or Glam Rock.
Metallica is Thrash Metal.
Catch up, Ketchup!

Well, I am really not into "glam" afterall...Metallica however, ARGH!
Motley Crue and Twisted Sister aren't glam rock and definately not def leppard. Glam rock started early 70's and would have been bands like T-Rex, Mud, Gary Glitter, Queen, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Sweet, Bay City Rollers. It was as much about the type of clothes and fashion of the time as the actual music.
Musically, glam rock was characterised by a combination of languid, ethereal ballads and raunchy, high-energy Rolling Stones–influenced rock. Lyrically, the genre's played on standard hedonistic pop/rock themes, but other underlying key subjects including classic literature, mythology, esoteric philosophy, history, science fiction and (apolitical) 'teenage revolution' (such as in T.Rex's "Children of the Revolution", Sweet’s "Teenage Rampage", Alice Cooper's "School's Out" and David Bowie's "Teenage Wildlife").

Sounds rather vague... I guess, like Gibson's website said, glam rock is more about the looks than about the music itself.
About Queen in the glam rock era...
"Although presenting a classically 'camp' glam image at the time, Queen mastered the art of the catchy single and their run of hits eventually eclipsed even Slade. Queen's early sound was a Back Sabbath-reminiscent blend of heavy metal and progressive rock, but the band's albums and singles went on to display a staggering array of styles."

I know wikipedia isn't the most reliable source in the world, but this article sounds pretty accurate to me.
I'd agree with those who stated Sheer Heart Attack was more in the direction of Glam Rock than Queen II.
Certainly Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" album deserves to be there...a superb record.

Ok, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard are Glam Metal not Glam Rock (I shouldn't have added the words). But trust me, it's not my opinion, it's critics' classification.
