Irony is that people who claim to be fans of queen who might also be fans of brian and roger, suddenly express their discontent with the new album by insult it and their makers. Irony is when a website is filled with people who criticize the members that are part of the band that the website is for. Irony is that I really hate this site for the kind of fans that are in here and still I keep returning and reading these threads. |

L-R-TIGER1994 17.09.2008 14:32 |
Many people should have been banned for WORSE things then.Isn't it a forum to discuss, express ideas or anything?excepting insulting somebody there's nothing wrong saying that we like or do not like this album or are we supposed to say I LOVE PAUL RODGERS!!when it's not my case, this was and is a QUEEN forum, now that Q+PR appeared it changed a lot,for those who says open another thread, ban this, ban that....I repeat:this is a Queen forum, may be there must be a queenpaulrodgerszone.com. |
masterstroke_84 17.09.2008 14:46 |
Right, but is stupid when, in EVERY thread about the album and the band, someone goes "It's crap.." or something like that, ONLY to pick up a fight and show again his miserable and un-happy way to be in life. |

John is not for this project really as he has not been for any other queen+ projects,he's happily retired with his family,he said there was not Queen without Freddie,he was not even happy with Robbie Williams singing WATC,if he were there it would be a bit closer to the band Queen. |

That thing about " John get retired because of the death of Freddie" is pure shit for emotional fans, he went off because he lost interest in everything about music. Even in the Queen days he used to dissapear for months while the band was recording the albums... specially during INNUENDO. I consider that an awful attitude, instead of all this Q+PR history. |

Can't people express their opinions anymore? I don't see how one saying that he/she hates/loves something is to pick up a fight. Of course, it's Queenzone, and some actually do that for a living it seems. But ban them for that? Pffffffft. The fights and name callings just happen because of pure disrespect to each other's opinions. Or major trolling. |

It's actually disappointing how little effect the naysayers have on me this time around. I remember in 2005 how emotionally charged I would get with guys like BPP, but now it just seems transparent. It's like their arrows of mean words meant to cause strife and division are made of Nerf and they just bounce off. I think I don't care as much and it's clearer than ever that it's just someone trying to get attention. |

Adolfo wrote: Irony is that people who claim to be fans of queen who might also be fans of brian and roger, suddenly express their discontent with the new album by insult it and their makers. It might be a bit ironic, but that's public image for you. Brian & Roger have made a marketing decision with the "Queen" name, and they have to bear the responsibilities in good and bad... The good being larger commercial success, and the bad being that some people think the content doesn't fit the name. Adolfo wrote: Irony is when a website is filled with people who criticize the members that are part of the band that the website is for. That most definitely isn't irony. That's actually called discussion, but admittedly it's something the QPR fans don't really like, and as such you probably aren't even familiar with the concept. What I basically means is that people from around the world come to a message board dedicated to a favourite band of theirs (Queen), and talk about various aspects the main subject. It's perfectly acceptable to like only the band of four members and hate all the solo careers, or even vice versa. It's even possible to like Queen and the individual solo careers, and hate with passion everything Brian and Roger have done as a two-piece unit. That's a personal opinion. Adolfo wrote: Irony is that I really hate this site for the kind of fans that are in here and still I keep returning and reading these threads. That's not irony, that's human nature. You want to come here and announce your opinion opinion to the rest of the world just like everybody else... So why not let everybody else tell their own opinion as well? |

As a fan of Queen for nigh on 34 years now I find it incredible to be referred to as a "hater". I have followed all their work as Queen, also all the solo projects and on the whole loved every one of them. Lots of things change over the years and one of the worst things about this current age is numbskulls who want you banned or expelled for speaking your mind and daring to have a different opinion for yourselves(just look at how The Labour Party are fucking this country up with the Human Rights Bill and petty nazi-like councils up and down the country). If you enjoy the QPR project good for you,but for me it does not even come close to the majesty of Queen with Mercury and Deacon. So if I want to express what a bucket of shit The Cosmos Rocks is I will and anyone who doesn't agree with me can go fuck themselves.Stick that up your pc pipe and smoke it(outdoors of course). |

Aaron what's ironic about Paul Rodgers he IS a living legend successful before Queen. No he is no-where near the class of Freddie but Fred's gone why love or hate just like or dislike..... QPR at number 1 in BBC radio 1 rock chart with C-lebrity now is that ironic ? I wonder if you will be seeing them live this time in the UK or otherwise. To hell with all of you hand in hand now it's time to be gone forever... forever aahhhh |

You sound a lot like me (ie- an 'old' fan) although it's only been 32 years for me. I'm actually personally offended by the use of the Queen moniker. But whaddaya going to do? I do understand that those who weren't fortunate enough to be around when Queen were are simply trying to have some sort of tangible connection with them -as tenuous as it may be. But of course I know it's EASY for smug cunts like me who have actually seen Queen to sit back and pass judgement on what's right and what's wrong. Easy AND fun. Hey, at least the new Kings of Leon album will be worth listening to. |

To answer the earlier question, yes I will be going to see QPR tour,as I did at Brixton,Wembley,Cardiff and Hyde Park last time out.Enjoyed all the shows I saw,but had the same feeling at the shows as I did at the Tribute concert,Brian's solo shows,Roger's solo shows,it wasn't quite Queen.I saw them at Newcastle and Knebworth in 86 so know how great they really were and what Queen really means. It is still great to hear Roger and Brian's solos and to hear some of the old hits, but as great a singer as Paul Rodgers is(and yes I have been a fan of his, early stuff especially) I do not not think there contrasting styles is that great a marriage. What you have to ask yourself is where are the songs that NO other band could of made on Cosmos Rocks? There are none.Even toward the end of Queen they still come out with Slightly Mad.That song could of came from no other band. The reason I am so disappointed with Cosmos Rocks is it is closer to a Paul Rodgers album than a Queen album. And I will tell you now that most of the numb nuts on here would never of bought it,some of you probably never heard of Paul Rodgers before he teamed up with Queen. |

i remember first seeing PR with the SAS band in i think 95/96 (tickets were £5) and thought hey i'd love to see him sing a few Queen songs, I was a member of the fan club nd spoke to Jacky a few days later and she though either him or Chris Thompson would make a great frontman for Queen-Freddie and now here we are Queen-John-Freddie + Paul Rodgers rock on |
