who would be interested in a completely lossless DC++ hub? i'm thinking of setting one up so we can have another way of sharing completely lossless roio's without mp3 coming anywhere near us. just a show of hands. |

Yes, espceially if it's properly elitist with bans for official stuff and mp3s and ridiculous entry conditions. |

Hi ! No way yo make Peer to Peer work for me, but I think this is a really great idea !! Regards, Olivier, Belgium. |

I'm in! It's also likely that I'll no longer be able to use torrents as the ISPs over here have all signed a deal with the devil. Use P2P and get banninated - they don't even have to prove you were sharing copyrighted or illegal content!!!! |
inu-liger 13.09.2008 21:42 |
I'm up for it as well. I'm slowly amassing a lossless collection, and would rather not use it through the main Hub personally. Edit: Count me out. Fuck elitism |

Penetration_Guru wrote: Yes, espceially if it's properly elitist with bans for official stuff and mp3s and ridiculous entry conditions.Um, by "official stuff", I hope you don't mean anything other than albums only :-) (eg. B-sides, single versions, edits, blah blah blah) Hard enough trying to share unique & alternative material here as it is. |
fatoldsun 14.09.2008 01:23 |
ok well my rules would be as strict as any other lossless community. in no particular order... - no mp3, PERIOD - no officially released material, not even singles - you are NOT allowed to share any roio that isn't complete (so not sharing ur unfinished folder) - No Sharing of WMA, MP2, MP3, MPC, M4A, OGG, MKW, DTS, XM, WAV, or EXE Files are allowed. - no show can be listed without a .txt file and if its .shn then an md5 needs to present as well - No Sharing of ANY material which has been converted or renamed from its original format. thats to name a few. |
little foetus 14.09.2008 05:29 |
I'm in, of course. I would add people have to share the best available quality and erase the inferior files from the sharing if they are told so. |

Great idea! |

I am interested. I would never give up on bokkepoot's hub, but I am interested in any sharing possibility. |

this is great, a really positive response. i tried getting a hub online myself last night and today with massive difficulties, the software to run it is really really fucking easy and i'm sure someone here would be able to do it, but for some reason it just wont work on my computer, i think it might have something to do with my IP provider, so if there is a kind soul who will help out and have the hub run off their computer then please send me a PM and i'll grab ur email address and send u all the nessecary equipment. sorry i couldn't do it myself. cheers. |
mogiggymo 14.09.2008 12:30 |
I'm in if anyone I've built a pretty decent colection in lossless and I think it's time we didn't have to wade through any mp3. I'm not a great net surfer but in forums like link and tapecity there's never a question of mp3. |
L-R-TIGER1994 14.09.2008 14:35 |
Fatoldsun if you are so puritan what are you doing on the queen hub which is full of mp3,incomplete recordings and official stuff?? |

This is a very good idea ! It's possible for me to run a third hub. I have to build it so it can take a little while. I was thinking of this for a few months too. I talked with Fatoldsun today about it. People who know me know that the existing queenhubs are almost always online and working. If there is a period of offline, it is because I have to restart my PC. As I said I need a little time to make a good hub. I let you know when I'm ready for taking a watch in the new hub. Keep an eye on this post !. Best regards Bokkepoot |

This is going to be so hard to police. Whilst (ultimately) we all want a lossless sound, its not going to happen for the major part. They'll be mp3's in flac format or something of that nature. Dont get me wrong, if it can be done, then im in. But I doubt it. Most, if not all of the rare stuff is mp3. So, count me out |
Kiwi Magic 16.09.2008 15:53 |

So, count me outas i've said to a couple of people, i come from a very strict upbringing when it comes to lossless. you're right at one point SOMETHING MAY have been mp3 at one stage but if we are ever in doubt we can do a spectrum analysis but thats where communication comes into play with the users and the op's. the current queen hubs allow pretty much anything and everything, this new hub most definitely would NOT. its most definitely going to be the cleanest hub we have. the fact is that you're never going to get a 100% pure lossless, wherever you go. everything is lossy, as soon as it leaves the stage and shoots down a mic lead it becomes lossy lol which is why us lossless nazi's continue to try to keep the sound quality at its very best so there is no loss of quality beyond the original wav files. but this will be the most lossless source for queen DC++er's. all the existing DC++er's with a majority of mp3 in their share currently will be severely warned about converting from mp3 to flac before proceeding to the new hub if they wish to come across and they will be under a very close watch during their first few weeks. i hope that reassures you abit :) |
