I'm surprised I haven't seen it here. I just ran into this while checking Time to Shine: link Not the best audio but you get the idea. I'm not particularly excited about this track as I am with Time to Shine or as I was with C-Lebrity but sounds Ok to me. Your thoughts? |

wow... as i've heard previous songs from the album this one got me into it by hearing it just once. love the song already, really 10+ song ! |
Wiley 01.09.2008 16:46 |
Ok, after more listens it is definately gowing on me. It's got that Rock You/Tear it up vibe and it could become a great live number. Great backing vocals by Brian and Roger and cool Free-esque beat. |
Going Back 01.09.2008 16:52 |
as the man from the radio is saying, surfs up has leading vocals by taylor, thats a great news ! |

The WWRY bit stops you taking the track too seriously and Brian's guitar work is just so cool :-)) Love the way it ends and Paul's voice just keeps the track just moving along. Roger on the chorus works great as well. This really is a QPR song all three work together just so well. Reminds me a bit of Tear It Up - would make a great live track. |

Totally awesome! This pisses on anything off MIH, doing what Queen do best Rockin out! Paul is amazing, to bad they didn't get together with him in the mid 90's! |

Not very original. Simply trying too hard to make a hard-rocker out of no genuine idea. "rock'n'roll will never die": Extremely cheesy. I liked TTS and C-leb better. |
P-Staker 02.09.2008 02:47 |
Tear it Up meets We Will Rock You meets Rock n Roll Fantasy meets, well, just about everything by Roger. Great stuff! |

even the none beilivers have to be impressed by that, i love c-lebrity, sint, time to shin andstill burnin! roll on the album roll on the tour! QUEEN WILL ROCK YOU! |
Holly2003 02.09.2008 05:20 |
This isn't as good as Time to Shine. This is what Brian May thinks Queen fans think "Queen" sounds like. The guitar orchestration is fairly pointless here. This is rawk, not rock. Cheesy. |

I also like Time To Shine much more, it is something new and fresh and hasnt been done byt hem before. Still Burnin' is a one dimensional rocker, just one you hear on the radio and when it is over you can't remember how it went. I was affraid to hear songs like these, let's hope it os one of the few and the album is not filled with these kind of songs. It is choosing the predictable way Furthermore, Time to Shine is brilliant and i hope to hear more of new things... |

-adventure seeker- wrote: QUEEN WILL ROCK YOU!This is my whole point. Queen never has been a rock band (OK the first album because they hadn't developed themselves yet) but offered so much more next some great rock songs. I am fan of Queen because of that diversity and daring to explore new things. Even though Hot Space was a failure, I admire the guts that they had to do it. So why get enthousiastic of only rock songs...and having the word 'rock' in the album title make people think Queen are a rock group. Maybe their is a lack of talent writing songs like Freddie did? |

Queen has never been a rock band, well except for their first album? That definitely a misguided statement at best. Their albums are chock full of rockers. Hell even Hot Space had Put out the Fire. |

Yeah - Hammer To Fall wasn't a rock track either. |

And what I am affraid of is that the rock part takes the overhand on The Cosmos Rocks. Let's hope I am wrong, but songs like Still Burnin' were expected and I am not impressed. Let's hope the album is not full with that. |
P-Staker 02.09.2008 11:12 |
Don't worry, Sunshine, it's not going to be all rock. I heard they did some blues and folk, too. |

Queen were essentially a heavy metal band that started playing pop. Listen to any concert and youll see. |

Have to admit that this sounds pretty good - looking forward to the new album. Glad I set my slider to slightly earlier than the 51 minutes and got a great reminder of how much of a classic 'Aqualung' was! |
Grantcdn1 02.09.2008 21:00 |
Queen was certainly more of a rock band than a pop band.....even for the QPR dissers,Freddie sang heavy rock songs too right up to the the end for him....The Miracle and Innuendo had heavy rockers.....Queen does heavy rock better than heavy rock bands do...They also did lots of other stuff....I expect that on this album....What will be better on this album is not having tracks like Delilah, Rain Must Fall, Pain is so Close to Pleasure, Cool Cat.....etc....instead we may have some blues (not out of the norm - Queen did everything), and some completely new things....i.e. Time to Shine.... |
onevsion 03.09.2008 10:42 |
Don't like it. Especially the WWRY part. Very weak. My love for Queen will never die, but after the 2 concerts I will be attending this tour, trading some roio's and voio's wich are still on my wanted list and buying some missing pieces for my record collection I will close the Queen book for a while. No more "Queen" without Freddie for me... I'm completely done with it. First (at the end of 2004 / start of 2005) I thought this Q+PR thing was really great. I went to see them 6 times and enjoyed all of the shows. Finally seeing Roger and Brian perform together again was a dream come true. But now after nearly 4 years it's been enough IMHO. There's so much more interesting music to hear on record / see in concert / buy on LP out there. Todays "Queen" are only glimpse of what they used to be... |
Future Manager 03.09.2008 13:32 |
I think Still Burnin' rocks! It's different but I'm still hearing the Queen touch. Love that chorus, it's much more catchy than C-lebrity (wrong single?). "I'm still a believer" in Brian, Roger and Paul, very much looking forward to the album and tour. |
ingosuntken 04.09.2008 14:25 |
C'Lebrity IS the wrong single..........! |
Grantcdn1 04.09.2008 22:24 |
I agree with you....I'd rather have Still Burnin' as the single.....but C-lebrity is still a really good rockin' track |
redspecialusa 04.09.2008 23:06 |
I'm still trying to digest this song. I do like it...This could definitely be a single as well. |
Compliance Queen1 04.09.2008 23:21 |
I agree that Still Burnin should be the single- especially in North America. I think this song is a great balance of each of their styles--this is fun and I like the WWRY bit- |
